YAZMIN OUKHELLOU was involved in a horror car crash that killed her boyfriend Jake McLean and left her seriously injured.

How is Yazmin Oukhellou doing?

Yazmin was in intensive care after the crash.

The report on July 5, 2022, said she was "stable and recovering" in hospital.

Initial reports said Yazmin had suffered “extremely serious” damage to her arm.

Doctors in the UK warned that she may never fully regain use of her right arm after an artery was cut open during the horror crash.

Her devastated mother Lisa has reportedly flown out to Turkey to be by her daughter's bedside.

Yazmin is now out of hospital but is staying with her mum as she is left sleeping side-by-side with her after the grief and shock she suffered.

"I know this will live with me forever, I need to take it slowly," Yazmin said after she tried to save her boyfriend too who sadly died in the crash.

She added: "I severed an artery and a nerve, that's why I bled so much.

"The doctors called me an angel, a miracle because it's a notorious spot and people have never survived.

"Now I'm just wondering how the hell did my partner die while I've survived?

"It's made me look at life totally different.

"I am definitely going to need therapy for a while, and I'm going to try some in-patient treatment too."

Following such an accident, Yazmin is still trying to get back to her normal life.

She added: "I'm very up and down.

"One minute I'm OK and then I'm not and I think that's just what happens with grief.

"I've lost relatives before - I lost my nan last year who was close to me - but I have never lost someone who I loved in an intimate way.

"It's very difficult."

While trying to come to terms with what happened, she is thankful that she got another chance at life and survived the crash.

She is aware that she might never use her right arm as she did before, but she is just appreciating the fact that she got to come out alive of such a horrible accident.

She said: "I could have been like Jake and not survived so I'm just very grateful and lucky that if that's the worst case scenario, I will deal with it as best I can.

"The scarring that I have is awful so I will always have that as a reminder.

"But at least I'm still alive.

"I'm staying away from social settings, I've stopped logging into social media, and I've changed my mobile number.

";For now, I just need to focus on getting well again and dealing with what has happened.

"Jake is the only person I have ever felt a love like that for and I think for me it's going to be very, very difficult to get over this.

"This will stay with me for life.

"But for me, I love him so hard and that's why I travelled across the world to be with him."

What happened to her in Turkey?

Yazmin and her boyfriend Jake had been on holiday where he was understood to have been involved in a business deal.

The Sun reported that a source said: "Apparently Jake was driving when he lost control of the car and it went off a cliff."

Locals told how emergency crews had dashed to the scene but were unable to save Jake.

Yazmin was quickly rushed to the hospital.

Who was Jake McLean?

Jake McLean, 33, became well known when he started to date Towie star Lauren Goodger in 2012.

Prior to fame, he was jailed for three-and-a-half years in 2008 after conning his way into a mother's house to raid the family home.

It is believed he only served half of his sentence and had been in prison for other convictions since.

Jake had an on/off relationship with Yazmin, hooking up with her a month after she had split with fellow Towie star James Lock.

Last year, Yazmin decided to make a life-changing decision to move to Dubai to live with Jake a year after their relationship.

But the reality favourite decided to end their romance after discovering Jake's infidelity with former Love Island contestant Ellie Jones in January 2022.

It is unknown when the pair reconciled.
