Victoria Beckham doesn’t want Spice Girls trio to sing girl band’s biggest hits at reunion
Posh Spice would be 'sad' Spice if Geri, Emma and Mel B sang classic tracks as new incarnation of group
VICTORIA Beckham doesn't want the latest incarnation of the Spice Girls to sing the band's hits.
The fashion designer - formerly known as Posh Spice - declined to be part of the girl group's reunion next year, which is to mark the 20th anniversary since debut single Wannabe was released.
Sporty Spice Mel C has also refused to take part, leaving Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton to fly the girl power flag.
The trio nicknamed themselves GEM when they announced the plans earlier this year, and speaking to The , Victoria, 42, revealed she supports the girls, but on one condition.
She said: "Of course, as a new group, I do [wish them luck].
"I do think they should sing new material, though, because what we did as the Spice Girls was so special. "If they sang Spice Girls songs, I think I might be a bit sad."
Mel, Geri and Emma announced the news they would be reforming back in July, posting a video message to fans.

However Mel C has spoken out against the plans, insisting the group's performance at the London 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony was their peak moment.
In an open essay for LOVE Magazine, she said: "I’d love to play huge arenas across the world, sing our brilliantly bonkers pop songs and relive our former glory.
“It is of course a very lucrative opportunity too.
“But we were a five-piece band. Didn’t we reach a peak with the Olympics? There’s a lot to be said for bowing out on a high note.
"For me the absolute pinnacle of my Spice existence was being watched by a billion people around the globe belting out Spice up Your Life on top of a black cab at the 2012 London Olympics.
"Anything less than the full line-up just didn’t feel like we’d be doing justice to the band or the fans.”
