Who is Danica Taylor?

Danica Taylor is a 21-year-old dancer from Leicester, and one of the latest bombshells to arrive on the hit reality show Love Island.

Before she entered the villa, Danica warned: "I am definitely going to go in there and step on a few toes, and I am more than happy to go after what I want.

"I don’t really see competition, I am a very self assured girl, I know myself, I know what I bring to the table and there are stunning girls in that villa but I back myself.

"There’s obviously going to be competition but I have no fear that I won’t be able to turn heads."

When asked how her friends and family would describe her, she said: "My mum always says I am a bit of a princess, a bit dramatic and always thinks I am right, which is very true.

"My friends would probably say I don’t hide from drama or arguments and I am a good friend."

She added: "I can shake my bum to anything, give me any song, anything!"

When did Danica Taylor join Love Island?

Danica made her entrance in dramatic fashion and arrived on June 17 , 2022.

The 21-year-old arrived on the ITV show in a giant pink clam during a sea-themed challenge.

Shortly after, she announced a re-coupling at the end of the episode.

She told the Love Islanders: "I've got a text.

"Tonight, there will be a recoupling. The girls will each choose which boy they want to couple up with."

As her fellow islanders gathered by the fire pit, she was told to go first and stood in front of the boys.

Announcing that she'd made a decision, she said: "I’ve decided to couple up with this boy. I’ve not been here 24 hrs so it is a weird situation to be in, and I’ve barely got to know any of you.

“You’re all lovely boys but I didn’t come here to play it safe. I can only follow my heart, I can only go on face value.

“Someone that is my type. And I need to explore that unfortunately, so I’m going to have to follow my heart on that one.

“The boy I want to couple up with is…”

The episode ended on that cliffhanger, but we finally got her decision on Sunday, June 19, 2022, as ... Luca.

Danica kicked things off and announced that she'd be picking... Luca,

Luca looked less than pleased as he had been happily coupled up with Gemma.

Before heading to his new partner, Luca walked towards gave Gemma and gave her a kiss on the cheek before reluctantly taking a seat next to Danica.

He then told Ekin-Su he was "raging" at what had happened, while Gemma was forced to pick her former pairing Davide as the boy she was "supposed to couple up with was taken".
