Ex-Page 3 favourite Sam Fox in tears after finding throat lump in cancer scare
PAGE 3 favourite Sam Fox has been in tears after a lump in her throat sparked a cancer scare.
Sam, 56, now a singer, is to have surgery this month to remove a 10mm growth between her vocal cords.
She visited experts at Harley Street after experiencing problems with her singing voice.
Sam said: “When I saw the growth on the screen, I thought: ‘Oh God, that’s not normal.’
"It looked very big. You think about throat cancer straight away.
“The doctor said, ‘We have to get that out as soon as possible. It might be nothing, but it might not be’.

“I was in shock. My fiancée Linda was with me, and broke down in tears.
"I’ve cried a lot.”
Sam’s mum Carole Ann had breast cancer and her long-term partner Myra Stratton — who died in 2015 — had the disease.
The ex-model, who will wed Linda Olsen, 48, next week, said of her fiancée: “When she broke down in tears, I knew how she was feeling, I’ve been there.”
Sam — who first appeared in The Sun in 1983 — added: “The doctor said the growth is in a precarious position, so even if it turns out to be a benign polyps, scarring is very much a possibility.
“I still do lots of performances to soldiers on tour as a British Royal Forces sweetheart, which I love, and would hate to have to give up.
“I just pray everything will be OK.”
