Watch the gruesome moment Towie’s Lydia Bright gets a FISH HOOK caught through her finger on Celebrity Island
Brave star had it pulled out by medics and continued to stay on the island - while Aston Merrygold gives up and goes home
LYDIA Bright has proven she's one tough cookie after gruelling scenes on Celebrity Island saw her get a fish hook stuck in her finger.
The Towie star, who has confessed she cares about her looks more than anything, is then left screeching as medics are forced to pull the sharp hook from her finger to prevent her getting an infection.
At one point it looked like she would have to leave the Island in order to get serious medical attention, leaving her in even more tears as she agrees to have local anaesthetic in one last bid to get it fixed.
In a sweet moment, Made In Chelsea's Ollie Locke reveals to the camera he would find the rest of his time on the Island difficult to handle without his new best mate by his side.
He also dutifully holds her hand throughout the ordeal, and is forced to watch as the star screams in pain as the sharp metal is pulled from her finger.
Fans watching at home cheered the Towie star on for her bravery, and were left gagging at the makeshift surgery she had to endure during her ordeal.
One fan wrote: "Lydia's on-island surgery is turning my stomach!"
Another added: "I was just nearly sick watching Bear Grylls Celebrity Island, i couldn't be Lydia with that fish hook stuck in her finger"
A third cheered her on as well as said: "really love Lydia on celebrity island completely different person to what I thought ... You go girl!x"
Fans of the show couldn't help but mock Aston's decision to leave the show and compare it to Lydia's decision to stay despite the injury.
At the beginning of the episode, the former JLS star gathers his campmates to reveal he is going to be leaving the show to carry on his passion for music and choreography.
He also admitted that he was "naive" for his perception of the show, and has previously said he thought the group would be fed off camera.
Viewers and campmates weren't to please with the stars choice - especially considering the whole two week adventure was in aid of Stand Up to Cancer.
One fan wrote: "Lydia thinks she has it tough but what about poor Aston who is struggling with a catchy hook back in the studio?"
Another added: "Well done #Lydia ... at least you've stayed on the island. The girl got balls ... Aston must be looking for his!!!"
