Gene Simmons says he is fittest wrinkly rocker ahead of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger
KISS legend Gene Simmons claims he is the fittest wrinkly rocker, leaving Mick Jagger wheezing in his wake.
Simmons, 72, says the Stones singer, 78, is not weighed down by massive boots like him and does not spit fire on stage.
He said: “Jagger’s in amazing shape, but he wouldn’t last half an hour in my outfit. I’m 72 and still in great shape.
“You’ve got to spit fire, fly through the air and all that stuff. And you do it for two hours.”
Jagger has told how he still trains several times a week to stay fit.
He had surgery in 2019 to replace the aortic valve in his heart but was back leaping around on stage three months later.
Meanwhile, Kiss bassist and singer Simmons — who has showbiz’s longest tongue at 7in — had kidney stones removed in the same year.
And he admits his performing days may soon be over.

He told Classic Rock magazine: “Am I going to be convincing doing this at 75? No. Because I still have to wear these dragon boots proudly.
"Each of them weigh almost as much as a bowling ball, on their own.
“Plus I wear about forty pounds of armour and studs and guitars that I’m carrying around on eight-inch platform heels.
“The physicality of what we do is just crazy.
“At some point, you’ve got to have some dignity and pride and quit while the gettin’s good.”
