MAISIE Smith’s incredible career change has been inspired by a Brookside and TV legend.

Maisie, 20, was with a group of pals and her lookalike sister when Claire Sweeney invited her on stage for an impromptu song.

The soap star "brought the house down" with an incredible rendition of Adele's hit track during a night out with pals including Kris Boyson and Abbie Quinnen.

Maisie, who said goodbye to Walford last year after 13 years of playing fan-favourite Tiffany, told pals after performing at the Burlesque style show on the Embankment: “I’ve absolutely loved this.

A source told The Sun: "Claire has been so encouraging to her and has been rooting for Maisie because of her extraordinary talent from day one. "

"She got Maisie up on stage and she blew everyone away singing Adele.

They are in a lot of the same circles now with talented singers and dancers including Abbie Quinnen too."

Just yesterday Maisie announced a huge career move after she dramatically quit EastEnders earlier this year.

The star - who won Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 alongside pro dancer Gorka Marquez - is due to take to the floor once more.

Maisie is preparing for a new role as the leading lady for the Strictly Ballroom: The Musical, co-directed by Craig Revel Horwood.

She will be reunited with dancer Kevin Clifton for the stage show which will be based on the much-loved 1992 film of the same name.

The dancing duo previously performed together during the BBC ballroom show's Children In Need special, as well as the live tour.

Now, Maisie is set to play leading lady Fran in the Baz Luhrmann directed show while Kevin, 39, will take the lead as Scott Hastings.

It's not the first time that Maisie has wowed fans with her sensational singing voice.

The red-headed bombshell, who finished runner-up in the eighteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing, belted out a stunning rendition of Alicia Key's hit Fallin' in 2020.

Maisie could be seen applying her bronzer while singing the difficult tune, captioning her footage: "This is why my make-up always takes so long."

Towards the end of the clip, Maisie added: "I went a bit flat."

Just a month before that, the star recorded herself as she enjoyed a late-night singing session in her pyjamas.
