Dua Lipa sings about sex and ‘bodies aching’ on Calvin Harris’ racy comeback single Potion
LAST time they worked together Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa spent eight weeks at No1 and scooped the British Single of the Year Brit award for their smash hit One Kiss.
Now they are aiming to repeat history by teaming up again for what they hope will be the song of the summer — although the sexually charged lyrics may be a shock some of their younger fans.
I’ve learned they have teamed up for Calvin’s comeback single Potion, which will drop tomorrow.
Dua sings in the chorus: “Late night conversations, electric emotions. Sprinkled with a little bit of sex and it’s a potion. Late night bodies aching, mental stimulation. Sprinkled with a little bit of sex appeal and it’s a moment.”
The single also features a seriously explicit section from US rapper Young Thug. Potion is the first song to be released from Calvin’s sixth album - and first in five years - Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2.
The first volume in 2017 included the hit Feels with Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean, and this new single has been compared favourably to that song.

A music insider said: “The track is like Feels 2.0, both in terms of the sound and the style of the video. Potion picks up where Feels left off.
“The video has already been shot and Dua wears a load of sexy outfits. They are both looking great.”
It’s set to be a busy week for Calvin who will headline Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Coventry on Saturday, when their annual music festival returns for the first time since 2019.
He will have company there, having gone public this week with his new fiancée, Radio 1 Drivetime co-host Vick Hope.

The pair were snapped looking cosy at the Royal Chelsea Flower Show in West London before The Sun told how they had secretly got engaged under a giant tree on his farm in Ibiza.
But as well as wedding planning, Calvin has a busy summer ahead with the imminent release of his album, festival performances across Europe and his residency at Ushuaia in Ibiza.
Vick may be about to become a real jet setter.
Harry shout-out to mum
IT was a family affair for Harry Styles at his sold-out, one-off show in London – with his mum, sister and girlfriend all singing along.
He raised the roof at the O2 Brixton Academy with tracks from new solo album Harry’s House, set to top the chart tomorrow as the year’s fastest-selling album.
Mum Anne, sister Gemma and US actress girlfriend Olivia Wilde, danced and sang on the venue’s balcony, and Harry jokingly apologised to his mum for X-rated lyrics on his hit Keep Driving.
He told the crowd: “I never thought I would say, ‘Cocaine, side boob, choker with a sea view’ . . . with my mother in the audience. Bit risky that one, I’m sorry!” But as Anne blew a kiss, he beamed and continued a set that included As It Was, Late Night Talking and Music For A Sushi Restaurant – the top three tracks in the UK singles chart.
The intimate gig also saw Harry, holding a Ukraine flag, banter with fans. One held up a sign revealing her boyfriend had cheated on her with her best friend.
Sharing it with the crowd, Harry said, “What was your boyfriend’s name? Luke? It is a s**t name anyway. You’re better off without him”, before dedicating his song, Boyfriend, to her.
Harry plays Glasgow on June 11 in the first of a series of massive stadium gigs across the UK next month. Welcome back, Harry. You’ve been missed.
Way to rant
MY Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way seems to be battling Liam Gallagher for the title of Most Outspoken Rocker.
Gerard halted his band’s sold-out show at Milton Keynes’ Stadium MK to slam “corporate b*****ds” for controlling our lives through social media, and said he was now “unhinged but free” after refusing to share his life online.
He ranted: “They have every detail of our lives, and control over it. We give these corporations everything . . . living life on a screen. “Look up. Do your thing, just don’t give the b******s everything. Keep some for yourself and people you love.
“I will do my thing and you do your thing, and embrace the world. People say, ‘He’s crazy, he is unhinged’. Maybe that is the case but I am free now.”
Blue video hasty
THEY have more wrinkles than when the burst on to the pop scene over 20 years ago but BLUE reckon it only takes them ten minutes to get ready for a video, despite always looking super-preened.
The group says filming for their new comeback single Haven’t Found You Yet, was their hastiest yet.
In an exclusive chat, Duncan James – who has bandmates Antony Costa, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe – said: “It was one of the quickest videos we did. We were only there for about four hours.
“Back in the day, we did all-day shoots. Now, we get there in the morning and get about ten minutes each in the hair and make-up chair.”
Antony added of 2001 single All Rise: “It was a 20-hour-day shoot and it was just four blokes sitting on a box doing nothing. It was mad.”
Their first album in seven years, Heart & Soul, is out on September 9.
Anthony said: “We did just under 20 songs then cut it down. We didn’t feel pressure, it just happened. We went into the studio to see how it went. That was it. I wrote this single then Dunc did a really good ballad.
“If it does well, we would love to do another so we will see how it goes.”
Could it be collab fab?
ANNE-Marie and Calum Scott could be teaming up for a collab in the not-so-distant future.
The Brit pair were spotted rubbing shoulders at the Prince’s Trust Awards at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
An onlooker said: “Anne-Marie and Calum got on really well. They’re fans of one another and were chatting about music for a while before the ceremony began.”
This is definitely a duet I could get behind.
Tum-thing special
THERE is tum-thing very special about Kylie Minogue being back on the red carpet.
The Spinning Around singer turned heads when she showed up at the premiere of Baz Luhrmann's Elvis Presley biopic Elvis at Cannes Film Festival in the South of France in this revealing black dress.
Now back in her native Australia, Kylie will be jetting into London today for another special event. She will be at the opening night of ABBA’s groundbreaking concert residency ABBA Voyage, performed by computer-generated avatars.
Kylie has spoken about her love for the Swedish group in the past, saying she was beside herself to be offered the chance to sing with band member Benny Anderson in 2009.

She tweeted at the time: “This is a dream come true. Abba’s music has played such a great part in my life.”
She will be feeling even more lucky lucky lucky to be there with all four members tonight.
