'DON'T WORRY, SOMEONE WILL SACK THEM'

Xtra Factor host Rylan Clark-Neal jokes about technical blunder after signal failure

The ITV2 show suffered a hitch when the sound switched off and the screen diverted

XTRA Factor host Rylan Clark-Neal had a laugh at the behind-the-scenes team at ITV2 after a technical blunder on the show last night.

Some viewers were put out last night after the sound failed and then the image of the studio cut away to a blank screen.

The former X Factor contestant, who presents the show live with comedian Matt Edmonson, apologised to viewers.

After the picture switched back to the pair in the studio, he said: "And before we move on, we've just been told - we're so sorry you lost your picture for a couple of seconds in the last part."

Rylan cheekily added: "But don't worry, someone will sack them when he's back."

Matt also piped up, saying: "Don't get a new telly!"

During the show they also announced which wildcard acts nabbed a place in each of the judges' categories.

The four contestants were picked by one judge for their fellow panellist's category.

Honey G was also revealed to be making a shock return after Ivy Grace Paredes had to withdraw due to visa issues.

Honey G said: “I think Ivy’s voice is incredible and she’s very talented. She definitely would have gone very far in the competition if she had stayed.

“Obviously it’s a great shame she couldn’t progress but I’m very lucky and very happy to be back in the competition, a complete stroke of luck for me.

“I’m not just belting out an amazing voice; I am what is happening right now in the music scene. I’m the whole shebang.”

Louis had chosen her as a replacement act for mentor Simon Cowell.

She added: "There were so many tears from me and my family – especially my grandad when I found out I was back in the competition. I feel like I have been given a second chance to prove to Simon I deserve to go to the lives.”

Simon opted to give Nicole Scherzinger Ryan Lawrie, who failed to make it through to Judges' Houses initially after being put in a boyband.

Saara Aalto was selected by Nicole for Sharon Osbourne and has promised to give “110 per cent”.

Finally, Yes Lad were selected to join the groups category after Louis booted them out to a series of boos from the crowd during the Six Chair Challenge.
