The Chase hunting for female chaser who looks like a Love Islander but has brains of Anne and Jenny, admits Mark Labbett
MARK Labbett has revealed that the Chase producers are hunting for a female chaser who looks like a Love Islander but has the brains of Anne Hegerty and Jenny Ryan.
Since the show hit our screens in 2009, there have only been TWO female Chasers.
Anne, 63, AKA The Governess joined the programme in 2010 and Jenny, 40 - also known as The Vixen - started five years later.
Now The Beast is seen to find anther woman to join them - but they have to look like they are from the popular ITV dating show, which is due to return early next month.
Mark, 56, recently said at the Oxford Union: "I have been asked on all of the Britain, America and Australia shows 'can I find a female quizzer who can play like Anne or Jenny and looks like she can be on Love Island'.
"I call that Project Unicorn. I am not saying there are not any out there.

"TV is a very visual medium. TV will forgive almost anything except being boring.
"So many people say they are better quizzers than me and I say 'I know you are' but if you have a personality out there then there is a job for you."
Mark also opened up about how he managed to get his role on the show - and it involves them not dipping TOO much into the show's budget.
He added: "We have a simple test for being a Chaser and that is to get 20 questions right in two minutes and if you do that you are probably not going to cost to much money.
"We wanted a lady and she is on telly a bit and when we asked her the questions she was answering about 16 or 17 and we wanted her desperately on the show but the producers went 'she will cost us too much money'".
But that wasn't the only thing that the telly star spilt the beans on during the a chat with the debating society.
The star also confessed that the celebrity specials are rigged - and they have a trick to make sure that the stars can answer the questions.
Two years after the show hit our screens a spin-off called The Chase: Celebrity Special was created.
But in the past many viewers have fumed that they are given "easy questions".
The Chaser explained that bosses make certain decisions that go in favour of the famous faces.
"We give every celeb a piece of A4 and it is more or less saying 'Tell us what you know?'
"And it is only fair as if we beat them every time it would be a terrible show."
The Beast confessed that they strategically place them against a Chaser who isn't as confident in a topic that they have picked.
Mark continued: "We would rather them being asked about what they know. And the celebs pick the right Chaser.
"Jonathan Ross is a very bright man and an expert in certain cult areas.

"He likes his cult TV and Manga so they put Jonathan up against Shaun (Wallace) who does not watch telly."
The Chase scooped up the award for Best Daytime at the Baftas on Sunday night.
