Carol Vorderman lined up for I’m a Celebrity as show bosses are prepared to offer six-figure deal
Producers are hoping the 55-year-old will be the "brains of the camp"
CAROL Vorderman is being lined up to star on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
The 55-year-old Countdown icon is in talks with ITV and is expected to land a six-figure deal to head Down Under.
Producers believe she will be a hit with older men — especially during the popular shower scenes — after enjoying sex symbol status for more than 30 years.
An insider said: “She is well-known and still carries a lot of sex appeal.
“ITV chiefs are also hoping that she will be the brains of the camp. She’s a TV legend and they’re prepared to splash the cash to land her.”
After leaving C4 game show Countdown in 2008, Carol co-hosted Loose Women before departing in 2014.
She featured in the Beeb’s The Apprentice: You’re Fired! six years ago and appeared on Channel 5 panel show It’s Not Me, It’s You last month.
The full line-up for the new series of I’m a Celeb, which starts in November, has yet to be announced. But producers have already ruled out reality stars in favour of more “credible” personalities.
Model and presenter Lisa Snowdon, 44, former footballer Robbie Savage, 41, comic Helen Lederer, 62, and Coronation Street actor Craig Charles, 52, have all been tipped to take part.
