Inside Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde’s ‘messy’ relationship as she’s handed court papers on stage by ex Jason Sudeikis

WHEN Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde started dating, it looked like the A-list pair were keen to keep things low profile and free from drama.

However, their relationship is now quite literally under the spotlight after an extremely awkward situation involving Olivia's ex.

In a bizarre incident, Olivia, 38, was interrupted and publicly served custody papers marked 'private and confidential' while on stage by her actor ex Jason Sudeikis, 46, with whom she shares two children.

She appeared to look flustered as her presentation was disturbed, before continuing on.

As the complex situation unfolds, here we take a closer look at Harry and Olivia's romance - which has been plagued by allegations of "crossover" and branded frankly as "a bit of a mess".

'Everyone could see they had a spark'

All seemed harmonious when it was first reported in January 2021 that Olivia and Harry, 28, had started dating.

Olivia had announced her split with Jason two months previously, and images emerged of them at the wedding of Harry's manager together, sending fans wild.

A source told People magazine: "[Olivia and Harry] were in Montecito, California, this weekend for a wedding.

“They were affectionate around their friends, held hands, and looked very happy. They have dated for a few weeks.”

The pair met while working on director Olivia's latest production, Don’t Worry Darling.

A source said: “They clicked immediately – they’re both very artistic, passionate people and it was one of those things where straight away everyone could see they had a spark."

'It's a bit of a mess'

But while the couple looked loved-up and happy, the news of their romance reportedly sparked fury from her ex-fiancé, Jason Sudeikis - who she had dated for nine years.

Jason was understood to have been heartbroken by the news Olivia had moved on with Harry, who she had gushed about months earlier after casting him in film Don’t Worry Darling.

Speaking to The Sun, one source said: “This looked very Hollywood at first, but it’s a bit of a mess and what ­actually went on looks very different, depending who you ask.”

According to Page Six, a source said: “People have tried to make out that Harry and Olivia have only been dating for the past few weeks, but that’s not right.

“Jason found out about Harry and pushed the conversation. Olivia then asked for a separation and news of the split was made public.”

It is understood that Olivia told Harry she was already single when they met, and those close to the situation told The Sun he is blameless, despite the controversy.

The end of the road

It seems Jason had also hoped to be reunited with Olivia, with a friend adding: “He’s just shell-shocked. As far as he is concerned they were still together, but obviously she is telling a very different story, which he doesn’t understand.

“He’s heartbroken, but despite everything, he would love to save their relationship and stay together.

“He hopes it’s a temporary bump in the road rather than the end."

First linked in November 2011, Olivia and Jason got engaged in January 2013, before welcoming son Otis in 2014 and daughter Daisy in 2016.

Before that, Olivia was briefly linked to Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling, and was previously married, to filmmaker Tao Ruspoli.

As a teenager, she secretly married Italian prince and filmaker Tao Ruspoli - who lived on a school bus - and went on a 'sex bender' when they eventually split.

Harry also isn't without his romance drama, and also has his own complex dating history.

His numerous ex-girlfriends include popstar Taylor Swift, and model Kendall Jenner.
