Who is Tom Newton Dunn?
AWARD-WINNING political journalist Tom Newton Dunn will present a new weeknight news and current affairs programme on TalkTV.
Titled The News Desk, Newton Dunn will tackle the “biggest stories of the day with a packed hour of news, expert analysis, debate and exclusives from across the UK”.

Who is Tom Newton Dunn?
Thomas Zoltan Newton Dunn, better known as Tom Newton Dunn, is an English broadcast journalist and former newspaper journalist, born on December 16, 1973.
He was born in London, to Bill Newton Dunn, a Conservative and later Liberal Democrat Member of the European Parliament, and his Hungarian-born wife Anna Arki.
He was educated in Wiltshire before attaining an MA honours degree in English literature at the University of Edinburgh.
In 1996, Newton Dunn joined The Daily Telegraph as a diary reporter for the Peterborough column, before joining the Daily Mirror a year later for its graduate trainee scheme.

He spent several years with the Mirror as a news reporter, before becoming the paper's defence correspondent, in which he covered the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars.
In 2004, he moved to The Sun as the paper's defence editor.
Then in 2009, he was promoted to the role of political editor.
He left The Sun in 2020 to become a presenter and chief political commentator at Times Radio. He was replaced as political editor by Harry Cole.

Before joining Times Radio, Newton Dunn regularly appeared on the BBC, Sky News, and was one of the hosts of BBC Radio 4's Week in Westminster.
The 48-year-old has won multiple awards for his work as a political journalist.
In 2008, he won the Scoop of the Year award at the British Press Awards for revealing the cockpit tapes behind the Matty Hull friendly fire incident.
He also won Scoop of the Year for the same story at the 2007 What The Papers Say Awards.
In 2015, he won the Politics Journalism award at the annual British Journalism Awards for revealing the Plebgate scandal, which was defended by a libel suit brought by Tory MP and former Government Chief Whip Andrew Mitchell.
Has Tom Newton Dunn left Times Radio?
Newton Dunn has stepped down from his role as chief political commentator on Times Radio.
His decision to leave comes after it was announced that he will have his own programme on the new TV channel - TalkTV.
Although he will no longer co-host the Sunday morning politics show T&G, he will continue to appear on the radio station.
What is Tom Newton Dunn's show on TalkTV?
Newton Dunn's show is titled The News Desk on TalkTV.
The show will air at 7pm on weeknights for an hour-long programme of news and current affairs.
Speaking about his show, Tom said: “The News Desk’s founding principle is to give viewers top quality news in a straight and balanced way, so that we win their trust.
"We serve no political agenda or ideology. We’re going to do that in a fresh and engaging format, and to help us we’re really pleased to have recruited 11 of the sharpest and most perceptive political voices in the UK who will take it in turns to make up our nightly panel."
