SQUEAL OR NO SQUEAL

Noel Edmonds will phone your PETS to pick up their spirits and give them life advice

The eccentric TV presenter has set up a website aimed to make your "precious chums feel important"

THE cat certainly doesn’t have Noel Edmonds tongue, in fact quite the opposite.

The eccentric former Deal or No Deal presenter is, wait for it… offering to call up your pets and give them words of encouragement.

Mr Blobby’s mate has set up a page on his website where you can email him to make your “precious chums feel important”.

Since his hit Channel 4 show came to an end, he obviously has a bit more time on his hands, so the kindhearted TV host is now offering to call up your animals and brighten their day by sending them positive energy - completely free of charge.

The 67-year-old announced his unusual plans for this charitable new venture on his website, it reads:

“What would life be like without our feathered, furry, scalely friends?

“Well the answer is- pretty miserable. So I want to make these precious chums feel important and appreciated.

“It’s amazing how a simple brief phone call can pick up the spirits of the most dejected hamster, the most stressed goldfish and the most neurotic cat.

“Please allow me to call your pet and offer positive words of appreciation and motivation.”

Guardian writer Peter Ormerod claims to have tried out the new service and says his cat received a phone call from Noel.

He wrote: "On Saturday, at 12.26pm Noel Edmonds phoned me up and then proceeded to talk to my cat, offering her words of affirmation and motivation," said Peter.

"I never actually thought the actual Edmonds would actually call and actually speak to my actual cat.

"I had Noel Edmonds on loudspeaker and heard everything. He hoped she was having fun doing what I told him she does."

The website has caught the attention of the nation, and people have quickly taken to Twitter to talk about Noel’s new venture, with some humorous remarks.

One tweeted "Hello cat, this is Noel Edmonds. How can I help? Well, Noel, I've got a Crinkly Bottom"

This one tweeted: There's a rumour that Keith Chegwin is undercutting Noel Edmonds and offering to text your dog, cat or gerbil for just 20p"
