X Factor’s Skarl3t slam the show for ‘heartbreaking’ edit they claim shows them in bad light
The group angered viewers with their attitude at Boot Camp last Sunday
X FACTOR’s Skarl3t have issued a statement claiming the “heartbreaking” edit of the ITV show has resulted in them being 06branded bullies and receiving a barrage of abuse.
The girl group, who were first seen during last Sunday’s explosive episode of the show, came to blows with fellow contestants Kayleigh Marie Morgan and Tinuke who they’d been partnered with – before sensationally storming off to rehears alone.
However, member Tash claims the group have been the victim of an unfair edit, writing: “It makes me really sad that we were shown in such a bad light.”
In her lengthy post on Twitter, she added: “This is a TV show and as a viewer myself it was heart-breaking watching how it was edited (as I can promise you it really isn’t and wasn’t like how it was aired).
“I have only seen negative comments from our performance saying we are bullies who are selfish and it really hurts reading those comments as it is far from the truth.
“I get it that people will have their opinions from what they have seen and unfortunately we are not in control of how the program is edited, it could happen to anyone and its happened to us.
“We didn’t row or fall out and I am hoping Kayleigh feels the same as I thought we worked well in a team.”
As the contestants were grouped together and given Marvin Gaye’s Ain’t No Mountain to perform for the judges – it wasn’t long before the disagreements started.
Skarl3t, who abandoned their partners, said to camera at the time: “This is a competition, you can be cool without everybody but we’re not here to make friends.”
Their outspoken comment came after solo singer Kayleigh, 19, tried desperately to get the group to rehears together.
Kayleigh said: “We’ve been looking everywhere for [Skarl3t] and we can’t find them and it’s actually really worrying.
“My biggest fear is being pushed aside. Sometimes it’s really hard to get that limelight.”
As they finally took to the stage together in front of judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Sherzinger and Louis Walsh, Skarl3t confessed: “We were on the verge of breakdown.
“We were stressing out about the song because we were stuck with parts we weren’t familiar with.”
Unimpressed at their efforts, Simon concludes: “I could tell there were issues.
“That song is one of the greatest pop songs ever written and when you’re given it you have to treat it properly.”
