JENNIFER Aniston’s best friend Chelsea Handler has slammed Angelina Jolie as a “f***ing lunatic” in lengthy rant regarding her divorce to Brad Pitt.
In a video clip uploaded to Twitter from the 41-year-old’s Netflix show, Chelsea, the comedienne blasted Angelina, 41, and 52-year-old Brad’s marriage and mocked the Hollywood heavyweight’s alleged drug use.
“Brad and Angelina always said they wouldn’t get married until everyone could get married and I always said I wouldn’t get married until they got divorce,” joked Chelsea.
“There are rumours that part of the problems were that Brad was allegedly drinking and smoking too much weed… I wonder why he needed to self-medicate? Maybe because he could’ve been at Lake Como hanging out with George Clooney and Matt Damon, instead of being stuck in a house with 85 kids, speaking 15 different languages… Oh yeah because he married a f***ing lunatic, that’s why.”
She concluded: “But we should all respect their privacy during this very difficult time, so this will be the last time I speak of this… On TV.”
While her best friend may have had her say on the marriage breakdown, Jen has kept quiet, although according to Us Weekly, a source close to Jennifer – who is now happily married to Justin Theroux – said that she “feels sort of satisfied about Brad and Angelina’s split”.
The insider added that Jen, 47, also said: “Yeah, that’s karma for you!”
In the court documents, Angelina cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split and has asked for full physical custody of their six children.
Brad’s marriage to Jennifer ended more than a decade ago but a pal close to the Friends star claims she always knew his relationship with Angelina wouldn’t last.
A source told the mag:”She always got the sense that something would happen with them eventually.
“She didn’t feel that Angelina was truly the one who Brad was meant to stay with. She always felt that Angelina was too complex for him. He’s a pretty simple guy.”
However, Jennifer “never” wanted the pair’s romance to come to an end.
Another source explained: “Admittedly [Jennifer] feels sort of satisfied about Brad and Angelina’s split,” she also “never wanted this for them or wished this on them.”
“Jen does wish Brad luck and the best. She feels like she’s happy, and she wants him to be happy too.
“Jen does not hold on to any negativity from her marriage to Brad.”
Brad and Jennifer were the two hottest Hollywood stars when they met in 1998 after being set up on a blind date by their agents.
They got engaged after two years together and wed in a glamorous ceremony in Malibu on July 29, 2000.
They split in January 2005, shortly after Brad had filmed Mr & Mrs Smith with Angelina.
Jennifer filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” and within two months pictures emerged of Pitt on holiday with Jolie in Kenya with her adopted son Maddox.
His divorce from Jennifer was finalised in October and in January 2006, Angelina announced she was pregnant with Brad’s child and went on to have their daughter Shiloh.
The couple have six kids together — Maddox, 15, Pax, 12 Zahara, 11, Shiloh, ten, and eight-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne. Maddox, Zahara and Pax were adopted from orphanages in Cambodia, Ethiopia and Vietnam, respectively.
Jennifer spoke about her split from Brad for the first time in a tell-all interview with Vanity Fair shortly before their divorce was finalised.
She said: "Am I lonely? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. Am I confused? Yes. Do I have my days when I’ve thrown a little pity party for myself? Absolutely. But I’m also doing really well."
