Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline reacts to her bombshell pregnancy news with sweet message

BRITNEY Spears' ex Kevin Federline has sent the singer a sweet message wishing her all the best after her bombshell pregnancy news.

Kevin's lawyer revealed the 44-year-old is happy for the pop star after she revealed she is expecting her third child with fiancé Sam Ashgari, 28.

Last night, Kevin's attorney Mark Vincent told NBC News: “Kevin is aware of Britney’s Instagram post. He wishes her the best for a happy, healthy pregnancy and congratulates her and Sam Asghari as they plan for the excitement of parenthood together.”

Britney announced on Instagram on Monday that she’s pregnant, and joked Sam thought she had a "food baby" before she took a pregnancy test.

He has since described fatherhood as the "most important job" he will ever do.

Iranian-born fitness model Sam, 28, posted on Instagram after her social media announcement.

Alongside a picture of lions and a cub, Asghari wrote on Instagram: "Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something I have always looked forward to and I don't take lightly. It is the most important job I will ever do."

The pop superstar, who has struggled with mental health issues after being hounded by the paparazzi, said she "won't be going out much" following her announcement.

A 14-year conservatorship which had controlled Spears' life was terminated by the Los Angeles Superior Court in November last year.

She was placed under the complex legal arrangement in 2008 amid substance abuse and mental health issues, and said it had prevented her having more children.

She followed up her original post with one of a flower alongside which she wrote: "May God's grace find you always."
