BEST mates Vicky Pattison and Ferne McCann have opened up to each other about the insecurities they face with their bodies.
During their Italian road trip that they are doing for ITV’s This Morning, the girls today discussed “bodyshaming” and how it affects them.
It all started when they were driving along the Amalfi coast and Vicky said: “There is no way we are going to be healthy here, we are in the country of wine, cheese, pizza and pasta.”
Ferne then turns to her pal and says: “Do you know what Vick, I’m done, I don’t care anymore
“This whole bodyshaming thing really gets my goat."
She then says: “I’m sorry that I’m not a size eight, I’m sorry that I’ve got cellulite.”
Vicky interrupts her by saying: “You shouldn’t be sorry!”
Ferne then said: “But that’s how I am, I always compare myself to others, saying ‘I wish I looked like this person… I wish I looked like that person… I wish I was a size eight… I wish I was this’
“And all this has come from pure bodyshaming”
She then turns to her friend and says: “I look at you and see no flaws, no imperfections.”
Vicky then looks upset and says: “Don’t say that, I’m gonna cry.”
She then adds: “I’ve had a pretty rough time of it recently and I know you have as well.
“But mate, when you say, you don’t like your body or you wished you looked like someone else, that just breaks my heart.
She ends by saying: “I just want women across the board to empower each other”
In the segment Ferne also flirted up a storm with the Italian chef who was showing them how to cook, and asked him if he was “single”.
Vicky then commented that she felt like a “third wheel”.
The girls also tried their hand at some traditional Italian dancers, much to the joy of onlookers.
