WILL Smith's son Jaden has spoken out after the actor stormed the Oscars stage and slapped Chris Rock in the face.

The furious Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star raised a hand at the ex-SNL comedian after he made a poorly-received joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's hair loss.

Will Smith, 53, took offence at the joke about his wife shaving her head and stormed the stage before hitting the presenter.

"Jada, I love you, G. I. Jane 2, can't wait to see it," Chris tried to joke - referencing how Demi Moore shaved her head for the role in 1997.

Jada, 50, on the contrary, has been struggling with hair loss for years, and last year decided to shave it all off.

While broadcasters in the US were able to cut off the visual and audio feed for a number of seconds, international cameras caught the ordeal.

After the confrontation, a stunned Chris told the rolling cameras: "Will Smith just smacked the s**t out of me."

When the video restarted, , as he yelled at the comedian: "Leave my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth."

Now, Jaden, 23, has taken to Twitter to defend dad Will's actions as fans of the awards ceremony took to social media to slam him.

He simply wrote in response to the evening: "And that's how we do it."

Jaden also posted a selfie, writing: “My Dads Speech Made Me Cry," before promptly deleting it from his feed.

Chris poorly-received joke was thought to be an ab-lib off of the script he had handed to the Oscars directors.

"Someone who works for the Oscars told me that Chris Rock was not interrupted by Will Smith at rehearsals yesterday. It was not supposed to happen," a source revealed. "It was real."

During the commercial break, Will was reportedly pulled aside and comforted by Sean Combs and Tyler Perry.

Will seemed to wipe tears from his eyes, as his fellow actors motioned for him to brush it off and continue the night.

Minutes later, Will was back on-stage, in tears, accepting the Best Actor award for his latest role in King Richard.

He opened his acceptance speech with a tense voice, explaining: "Richard Williams was a fierce defender of his family."

"I want to apologize to the academy, he said toward the end of his speech. "I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees."

"Art imitates life, I look like the crazy father, just like what they said about Richard Williams. But love will make you do crazy things."

JADA'S HAIR LOSS

Last year, Jada shaved her head, explaining on Instagram: "Willow made me do it because it was time to let go."

In 2018, she opened up about her "issues with hair loss" during an episode of Red Table Talk, explaining, "It was terrifying when it first started. I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, 'Oh my god, am I going bald?'

"It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear. That's why I cut my hair, and why I continue to cut it," she added.

After meeting with a number of experts, the actress could not get an explanation as to what was happening.

"I've gotten every kind of test there is to have," she explained. "They don't know why."
