DENISE Van Outen is back in touch with Jay Kay — after splitting from cheating fiancé Eddie Boxshall.
The TV favourite, 47, dated Jamiroquai singer Jay, 52 for three years.
They were engaged but parted in 2001.
A source said: “Denise and Jay have been speaking again and it has been good for both of them to have that connection.
“Their split was very painful but a lot of water has passed under the bridge.”
The decision to reconnect came after Denise ended her engagement to Eddie after discovering evidence he had been having phone sex with another woman, and swapped explicit texts with another.
He had also met up with an ex-girlfriend behind her back.

In her new autobiography A Bit of Me, Denise told how she began dating Jay, 52, in 1999 after flirting outrageously with him during a GQ interview.
She said: “I’ve always loved an innuendo and some of mine weren’t exactly subtle.
"I remember Jay’s jaw falling open in shock at some of the things I said.”
Jay - who wrote Jamiroquai hit Little L about Denise while they were still together - claimed at the time their split came because “our jobs were conflicting.”
