Battle of the Towie mega-mansions from Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan’s £3.5m ‘fortress’ to the GC’s glass-fronted pad
STARRING on a reality show brings big money - and even bigger houses.
This week Mark Wright and wife Michelle Keegan shared a tantalising glimpse of their new mega £3.5million mansion, which the couple have been building in Essex.
The stunning country pad, which initially cost them £1.5million and saw them knock down an old cottage on the land to do the work, has been designed like an elegant fortress, fitted with 360 degree motion-sensing cameras.
Each of the property’s five bedrooms has its own en-suite, while three of them have dressing rooms.
While their pad is certainly shaping up nicely, there's a lot of competition from other former stars of The Only Way Is Essex.

Joey Essex - £3m pad with basketball court
The loveable Essex boy, 31, sold his house last year for an eye-watering £3million after buying it for just over £1.5million a few years previously.
Outside the flash pad boasts a basketball court, a pool and a hot tub as well as an artificial grass lawn.
Inside he devoted an entire room to his designer wardrobe and accessories, which were stored in floor-to-ceiling cupboards and shelves.

The Chigwell home has four large bedrooms and a large kitchen complete with an American fridge-freezer and island.
While it's not known where he's moved to since, if the last place is anything to go by it is sure to be luxurious.
Sam Faiers - swish £2m home
The Mummy Diaries star, 31, recently splashed out on a lavish pad after spending £7,000 a month on rent.
Branching out of Essex, she bought a huge house with land in a gated community in Cobham, Surrey, reports the Mail.
Her last home, which was rented, featured five bedrooms to house her family with two children.
Sam has yet to reveal the new property or any details but it is sure to be big enough to fit her growing family, as she is expecting her third child.
Billie Faiers - £1.4m mansion from scratch
Like her sister, Billie is a fan of a lavish pad and has spent the past two years renovating her dream home in Essex.
The sprawling pad has finally had the roof and windows put in after a series of delays including planning permission being denied.
It will become her family home for her children Nelly, seven, and Arthur, four.
Billie, 31, hopes to finally be in the new home by the end of spring this year.
James Argent - £1.3m world of colour
James, 34, opted to be close to his parents with his large house in Woodford Green.
The five-bed property has a jazzy interior and was bought by the reality star in a bid to win back former girlfriend Gemma Collins.
The bathroom is decorated with blue tiles and features a giant animal statue in the shower area, while his main rooms are decorated with funky wallpaper.
Outside Arg has got a generous front and back garden, both filled with shrubs and leafy bushes.
Gemma Collins - £1.3m glass-fronted house
The famous Essex diva, 41, has a glass-fronted mansion large enough to contain her loud personality.
Gemma purchased the huge home last year, which features high ceilings supported by wooden beams, a spectacular spiral light feature, and floor to ceiling windows that let in plenty of light.
The timber-framed building houses a vast blue and cream kitchen, as well as a kitchen island, with cabinets stacked high and spanning three walls.
Photos also reveal Gemma's humongous master bedroom which has its own en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.
No doubt the GC will add her own features and plenty of pink accessories to bring the house up to her standards.
Jess Wright - £1.25m pink paradise
Her brother Mark is still building his dream home, but Jess has been in hers for years.
The modern townhouse in Chigwell has been overhauled thanks to a £700,000 investment from her brother.
It features a large mirrored dressing room, a massive bespoke sofa in the living room and underfloor heating.
She also opted for a lavish bathroom with a huge free-standing bath and a large chandelier over it.
Amy Childs - £1m pad with personalised bar
Amy returned to Towie last year and often shares snaps of her luxurious home on social media.
The reality star, 30, is believed to have bought it in 2010 and has spent the decade since renovating it to her taste.
Her kitchen is fitted with glossy white cabinets, stone floor tiles and a glitzy hanging chandelier.
The sale was recently put up on sale for a cool £1million - but it's just one of her four houses.
