Inside Jessie J’s romance with hunky basketball player Chanan Safir Colman on Richard Branson’s Necker Island
JESSIE J’s romance with Channing Tatum didn’t work out but she’s moved on to the next best thing, a bloke with a near-identical name.
I’ve learned the Price Tag singer has grown close to basketball player Chanan Safir Colman, whose first name is strangely similar to that of the Hollywood hunk.
Jessie is on holiday with the 6ft 2in Danish-Israeli basketball player on Sir Richard Branson's Necker Island in the Caribbean.
She shared this photo on Instagram on Monday evening of them wearing matching orange outfits and with Chanan’s arm around her waist, but she has since deleted the snap.
‘She feels blessed’
Jessie is believed to have been introduced to Chanan towards the end of last year, shortly after splitting from Max Pham Nguyen, her dancer boyfriend of seven months.
She dated Magic Mike actor Channing for two years from October 2018, following his split, six months earlier, from dancer and actress Jenna Dewan.
A source said: “Jessie and Chanan clearly like each other and they’ve been getting to know each other for quite a few months. She performed at a wedding in the Caribbean at the weekend and flew Chanan out with her for a bit of a break.
“It’s not been an easy time for her after her miscarriage at the end of 2021, but she is looking on the bright side of everything. She feels blessed to have Chanan in her life because they get on really well. They are just seeing what happens but as far as her friends are concerned, things are looking good for them as a couple.”

Jessie released an excellent single, I Want Love, in June last year.
It was supposed to mark the start of a new album campaign, but that had to be put on pause as she suffered a mystery throat issue.
In the past few months though she has started performing live again and is sounding better than ever.
On stage during a show in London in January, she said: “I am probably in the happiest place I have ever been, believe it or not. My perspective on life has changed completely.”
With things on the up in her personal life, hopefully that will prompt some new music for her fans.

DENISE: I’M SO PROUD OVER LEAVING EDDIE
DENISE VAN OUTEN has broken her silence following her shock split from her partner of seven years Eddie Boxshall.
I revealed in January how Eddie had been messaging other women behind her back, promoting Denise to dump him.
Now she has said she is “proud” of her decision to “walk away” because she has self-respect.”
Denise, who regularly appeared on TV's Celebrity Gogglebox with Eddie and is mum to xxxxx, age, explained: “The one thing I’m really proud of myself for, is I do know when to walk away and I don’t like to be taken advantage of.
“Sometimes it’s been to the detriment of my own career or in my own relationships, but I just feel like it’s really important as a woman to have self-worth and self-respect.
“I’ve always tried to maintain that in anything I do in life generally. More so now as a mother, because I feel like I’m a role model and I’ve got to set an example.”
She is gearing up to release her autobiography A Bit Of Me tomorrow and is keeping her chin up about what else is to come. She added on Radio 2 yesterday: “The bad times are always followed by good times and that’s what I always look forward to.
“I think you just ride the wave of the bad times knowing that eventually you will get to a good place.” Good for her.
ANITTA IS CALVIN’S NEW GIRL
CALVIN HARRIS has only just split with his girlfriend and now he is teaming up with another beauty – but for musical purposes only.
I can reveal the superstar DJ has enlisted the help of stunning Brazilian singer Aniita for his next floorfiller.
A source told me: “The track is a sure-fire summer banger. It’s got Calvin’s trademark sound but with a Latin twist. Everyone around him reckons it’s going to be a global hit.”
I told last week how he had separated from model Aarika Wolf after four years. To make sure he has little time to dwell on the break-up he is throwing himself into his work with a string of huge shows this summer.
Despite a series of high-profile collaborations with artists including RITA ORA and Saweetie, Anitta is yet to take off on our shores. In 2019, she even caught the eye of Madonna, featuring on the track Faz Gostoso on her Madame X album.
Meanwhile, Calvin’s last single By Your Side, featuring man of the moment Tom Grennan, helped give him his first UK Top Ten in two years.
It sounds like another is just around the corner.
- BILLIE Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo are among the first acts to be confirmed for next month’s Grammy Awards. The ceremony was pushed back from January after a rise in Covid cases. It will now have a star-studded line-up when it takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3. Lil NAS X and Jack Harlow, BTS, Brothers Osborne and Brandi Carlile are among other artists who will perform on the night.
Dove’s set for bright Lil future
AMERICAN singer Dove Cameron already has more followers than Ed Sheeran and now she is taking him on in the charts too.
Her breakthrough single Boyfriend looks set to crack the Top Ten this Friday and next up she is looking to collaborate with Lil Nas X after he revealed he’s a fan.
In an exclusive chat Dove, who describes herself as queer and who has 46.1million followers on Instagram compared to Ed’s 37.4million, told me: “I had this song called We Belong two years ago and he messaged me out of nowhere and said, ‘I love your new song’, and I was like, ‘What? How do you even know who I am?’
“He’s lovely and very supportive. I think he is one of the coolest people in the world so I’m very flattered. I would love to work with Lil Nas X. That would be one of the collaborations of my dreams. It would be the gayest crossover of all time.”
Dove, who starred in Disney comedy Liv And Maddie wore this vibrant Versace suit to an event in Los Angeles at the weekend. She rush released Boyfriend after a snippet went viral on TikTok and today will put out the music video.
She said of the deeply personal track: “This is definitely not a song I imagined I would be sharing with people. I didn’t know if I was ever going to put it out. So to see the reception both in the US and globally, it’s very strange and an amazing, unexpected feeling.”
Don: Adele let down her fans
MUSIC legend Don McLean has blasted Adele for axing her Las Vegas residency a day before it was to begin.
The American Pie singer said the industry is filled with “very spoiled” artists who don’t think about the fans.
He said: “They are all very rich and very spoiled and they don’t really care about the audience. They think the audience should kiss their ass and that is the opposite to how I feel.”
He added on the Greatest Music of All Time podcast: “I feel honoured to play for people. I know they are spending money and taking time out of their lives. But I come from a different time.
"Guys like The Beach Boys worked really hard and so does Paul McCartney.”
I’m with him on that one.
BELLA'S SURGERY REVEAL
BELLA HADID has said she had nose job at the age of 14, but now admits she regrets it.
The model said: “I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors. I think I would have grown into it.”
There have long been rumours that she has had other work done to her face but has now hit back, insisting she only looks different in photos of her as a teenager because of natural ageing.
Bella, the younger sister of Gigi, told Vogue: “People think I fully f***ed with my face because of one picture of me as a teenager looking puffy.
