Ex-Corrie star Ryan Thomas splits with girlfriend weeks after quitting soap

Actor left Coronation Street after 15 years playing builder Jason Grimshaw

IT’S not just the good folks of Weatherfield that Ryan Thomas has parted ways with.
The former Corrie hunk has split with stunning girlfriend Lana Martin after struggling to make their long distance relationship work.

Reformed bad boy Ryan began dating Edinburgh-based marketing consultant in February after they met on a night out in Manchester.
But despite having a lot more time on his hands after bowing out as Jason Grimshaw in June, the 800-mile round trip from London soon took its toll.
A source said: “Ryan and Lana really tried hard to find time for each other, but they both lead busy lives and became more and more distanced from each other – literally.

“It’s a shame but it’s totally amicable. Lana was there to help him adjust to life after Corrie.

Fans needn’t fear for Ryan – who dated co-star Tina O’Brien from 2003 until 2009 – despite the double blow of being without his job of 15 years or a girlfriend.
A source said: “He’s enjoying having more creative freedom and is looking forward to a few upcoming auditions.”

Plus, if Ryan takes any cues from his Corrie alter-ego, it won’t be long before he’s off the market.
