The Wanted’s Max George calls Tom Parker a ‘warrior’ as he joins band again
MAX George has paid a touching tribute to his band mate Tom Parker, calling him 'his warrior'.
The Wanted's Tom has once again joined Max, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, and on stage during their reunion tour.
Tom was forced to miss the band's first three shows, as he was finishing a revolutionary cancer treatment in Spain.
But on Monday evening, the dad-of-two surprised fans by appearing on stage in Bournemouth in Dorset.
He has now gone on to join his band mates again at the Brighton Centre in East Sussex for the latest leg in their Most Wanted - Greatest Hits Tour.
Taking to Instagram before heading onstage, Max shared a black and white photograph of Tom sitting in a giant throne.
Tom, who has been fighting a brain tumour, had used the fancy red and gold chair the previous evening at the Bournemouth International Centre.
Max has his arm around Tom in the snap and he wrote on Instagram: "My warrior.. Let’s hear it Brighton!!🖤."
Showing his funny side, Tom replied to his pal: "I’m basically a diva."
Fans have been quick to comment on the photograph, with one saying: "Ur a legend Tom, only legends deserve a seat like that."
Another added: "Love this😭 he’s such a hero ❤️."
Max also filmed a short clip of himself waiting backstage with Tom, asking: "Are you ready to do this?"
Tom replied: "Yes, bro!"
'REVOLUTIONARY TREATMENT'
Tom - who has a daughter Aurelia, two, and son Bodhi, 11 months - was initially told he had a grade four glioblastoma and was given a life expectancy of 12 to 18 months.
But after six rounds of chemotherapy and 30 radiotherapy sessions, the star's condition has improved and he and his family have a positive outlook about things.
The singer has been hopeful that his revolutionary £4,000 a week treatment in Spain can swings things in his favour further.
Tom had been hoping to be fit and raring to go for the tour, which kicked off in Glasgow at the beginning of the month, but he was unfortunately hit with some logistical issues.
Taking to Instagram last week, he shared a snap of himself and his bandmates and updated his fans with his news.
"So, as most of you know, I’ve been out in Spain on a treatment programme for the past couple of weeks," he began.
"It was only meant to last 20 days but due to a couple of logistical changes with tests and results it won’t be complete until the end of the week now which has delayed our journey home."
Tom continued: "I’m obviously gutted that I’ll be missing the first few shows but as I’m sure you will understand, I have to complete my treatment cycle.
