Sheridan Smith ‘not famous enough’ for Broadway
It's unlikely the British actress will get to perform in front of an American theatre audience
ANOTHER blow has been dealt to Sheridan Smith, as the actress has been described as "not famous enough for Broadway."
Currently starring in the West End production of Funny Girl, after taking two months off the show for "stress and exhaustion," it's now reported New York producers are concerned Sheridan won't draw in a crowd if she transfers with the show to Broadway.
A source told : "Things aren't looking good.
"US producers want a big name for the musical. She's never done Broadway before.
"If you're not famous or a movie or TV star in the US, forget it."

This will come as a blow for the 35-year-old who has been performing to rave reviews since returning from her break earlier in the year.
The Sun revealed growing concerns for the star in May when a performance of the show was cut short with audience members claiming she was drunk.
The show is now in its final few weeks and is due to have its final performance at London Savoy Theatre on October 8.
Each night die-hard fans have been gathering outside the venue to greet Sheridan as she heads home.
While Sheridan's love life seems to be back on track as she recently rekindled her romance with former Hollyoaks hunk Greg Wood.
