A CHEESE lover plans to launch a piece of Stilton into space.

Joe, aka Hertfordshire roofing company manager Alan Pender, is now working with a ­crypto-currency network called Stilton Musk — named after Elon, 50.

High-altitude balloon operators Sent Into Space will put the blue cheese into orbit.

The stunt is to raise awareness of global problems over access to food.

A source said: “NASA are involved too and are helping to make it happen.

“Stilton Musk was created last year and has been backed by a number of celebrities like Paris Hilton and the rapper Snoop Dogg.

They added: "Shares in the company are now up to almost £2million.

“The charity allows people struggling to access free food in participating shops."
