BAFTA BONDING

Dame Shirley Bassey will perform iconic Bond theme song at The Baftas to celebrate their 60th anniversary

JAMES Bond fans should tune into the EE British Academy Film Awards next Sunday – as singing legend Dame Shirley Bassey is putting on a special performance in honour of the 60th anniversary of the franchise.

I can exclusively reveal the superstar, who is the only person to have ever recorded more than one Bond theme tune, will be belting out a classic from the 007 films to kick off the ceremony at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Insiders are staying tight-lipped about which of the songs Dame Shirley will perform but she’s got three of the best to pick from – with her title tracks including Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker.

Dame Shirley’s performance isn’t the only treat the film Bafta bosses have lined up, as they have a star-studded roster of actors ready to dish out the famous mask awards.

An insider said: “After they were forced to hold the ceremony on a live stream last year, the film Baftas are going all out to make sure this ceremony is the most star-studded ever.”

The insider added: “Sophie Turner and Rege-Jean Page are both booked in to present awards, along with Emma Watson, Sienna Miller and Daisy Edgar-Jones.

“Millie Bobby Brown is also flying over from the States to be a presenter and will join Sebastian Stand and Daniel Kaluuya on stage. It is going to be a night to remember.”

Last week I revealed how Lady Gaga would also be coming to the UK for the film Baftas, where she is nominated in the Best Actress category for her role in House Of Gucci.

And yesterday organisers confirmed she would also be introducing the EE Rising Star segment.

The pop star will introduce last year’s winner Bukky Bakray to the stage, where she will hand out the mask to this year’s recipient.

Fans can watch the ceremony from the comfort of their homes next Sunday on BBC One from 7pm and on iPlayer.

Lamar the merrier...

GLASTONBURY may still be 15 weeks away but I can already feel the mud between my toes and taste the warm lager.

And now Worthy Farm boss Emily Eavis has finally announced the line-up for this year’s event over June 22 to 26, I genuinely could not be more excited – with US rapper Kendrick Lamar confirmed as Sunday’s headline act.

As I exclusively revealed last month, Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney will become the festival’s oldest ever headliner when he takes to the stage aged 80 on the Saturday night.

And at the opposite end of the age spectrum, Billie Eilish will become the youngest ever headliner when she takes to the Pyramid stage on Friday night.

My early announcements on appearances by Noel Gallagher and The High Flying Birds, Haim and Crowded House were all spot on, too.

Like every Glasto there is something for everyone.

But this year I feel like the Eavis clan have gone all out on their line-up after the previous two festivals were cancelled because of the pandemic.

You’ve got some classics coming from bands like the Pet Shop Boys and Supergrass – and who could forget Diana Ross, who is headlining the Legends slot on Sunday night?

Pop fans are in for a treat, with Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat and Years & Years also on the bill.

Festival-goers who prefer rap can look forward to sets from Little Simz, Ghetts and Megan Thee Stallion to look forward to.

Rockers, meanwhile, can catch Primal Scream, Wolf Alice, Skunk Anansie and Foals down at Worthy Farm.

Rising stars Celese and Arole Parks will also play a set, along with Holly Humberstone, who picked up The Brit Awards rising star gong last month.

My team and I will be packing up and relocating to Somerset for the four-day extravaganza – and will bring you all the best moments and biggest exclusives from backstage and around the farm.

If you’re there, give me a shout and I’ll meet you for a beer.

Dua's not glam fashion meet

DUA LIPA looks stunning in New York in an all-blue outfit – but the first time she met fashion legend Edward Enninful she was anything but glam.

The chart-topper admitted she was a sweaty mess after bumping into the Editor-in-chief of British Vogue during a workout.

Speaking with Edward on her At Your Service podcast, Dua recalled: “We met at the gym in London and we were introduced by my boxing trainer.

"I was such a fan and I was so excited about your appointment at Vogue.

“After I finished I was about to leave and the person at the desk stopped me and said Edward left his email and his phone number for me.”

Noel ready to fly high again

THERE is good news all round for fans of Noel Gallagher.

As well as playing Glasto on the Saturday night, we’ll also get new music from the High Flying Birds rocker next year after he revealed his next record was just two months away from completion.

Noel said: “I will have finished all of my contribution to it by the end of next week and then all that is left for my band is a bit of keyboards, the singing, and then the stuff at Abbey Road and then we’re done. I’ve got another seven weeks left. I’m going to start another one after that, I think.

“It won’t be out until next year now. That was my plan anyway at the end of my last tour in 2019, not to put anything out until 2023, so the plan is still in place.”

Back in the North

HUNDREDS of fans lined the canal in his hometown of Burnley as a tearful Jordan North completed his epic 100-mile row for Comic Relief – raising over £680,000.

The Radio 1 Drive Time host was joined by his dad and brother on water bikes for the final mile. Before setting off, Jordan had said he’d be necking a Guinness to celebrate the end of the feat. I am raising a glass to you, Jordan.
