Liam Payne whisks Maya Henry to Costa Rica for Valentine’s golfing break
LIAM Payne whisked fiancé Maya Henry on a luxury Valentine's break to Costa Rica before checking one of the most most exclusive golf resorts in the world.
One Direction singer, Liam Payne, 28, splashed out on a 10,000 mile round trip to Costa Rica for a winter break with fiancé Maya Henry.
The multimillionaire flew Maya half way round the world before checking out the exclusive Ocean Course on the peninsula after falling in love with the sport last year.
As well as panoramic coastal views, the course also boasts monkeys hanging from the trees around each hole.
A source said: "Liam has really fallen in love with the sport. He's the first to admit he's not the best player but to his credit he's putting in the hours. He'd the costal course online and was desperate to try it out.
"As he had a gap in his schedule he and Maya flew out to Costa Rica for a few days around Valentine's Day but they are now home."
While they have previously flown around the world on private jets, Liam and Maya opted to take commercial flights on their trip.
Previously gushing about getting into golf after being impressed with former bandmate Niall Horan's ability on the green, Liam said: "He’s good but I’m going to try to be better. This is my year of playing golf.”
Despite being known as the party boy of 1D, Liam recently admitted he's on a health kick and is trying meat free days.
The star says was influenced after Netflix documentary Seaspiracy left him "deeply disturbed".
Liam said: “Sustainability, it’s something we all hear about very much these days.

“I have to admit I hadn’t given it as much thought as I should have. And then [on] Netflix, I watched Seaspiracy and was deeply disturbed.
“I mean it’s difficult to pick the truth out of any of these things these days because, you know, there’s so much news out there. You never know which one to listen to."
At the end of 2020 Liam released a sustainable capsule collection with Hugo Boss.
He said at the time: "I think with everything going on this year, we’re all thinking about the future a lot more than we used to.
“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved with this capsule; it looks great and at the same time is highlighting the important work that Cotton made in Africa does."
A rep for Liam Payne declined to comment.
