John Barrowman sparks furious backlash as he DEFENDS ‘flashing’ on Good Morning Britain
JOHN Barrowman has sparked a furious backlash on social media after he appeared to DEFEND his lewd "party tricks" on set.
The ex-Doctor Who star, who was born in Glasgow but now lives in America, denied allegations of sexual harassment after claims were made last year.
The entertainer was accused of flashing at the cast on Doctor Who and its spin-off Torchwood.
While a 2015 video resurfaced showing Noel Clarke claim Barrowman would expose himself “every five seconds” and it was also said that he exposed himself in 2008 during a Radio 1 interview discussing his lewd pranks.
Barrowman appeared on GMB this morning and was asked by host Richard Madley about the accusations.
And the star hit out at so-called "cancel culture" as he admitted that he would not perform some of the "silliness" he used to.
The actor said that "times are different" now as he was interviewed about his upcoming tour.
Barrowman said: "I think the public understand that it was tomfoolery, a joke and silliness and wasn't sexual harassment.
"You say that it was my party trick but everyone who was there, on set and part of the fun and enjoyed and laughed at the silliness that went on, we had a great time."
The former Torchwood star took aim at "cancel culture" as he answered questions from Madley on GMB, saying that it had "gone way too far".
He said: "They've tried to strip my career over 35 years that I've worked very hard with and had a lot of fun in and been very open with all of the silliness that went on.
"All the stories are nothing new, they've been out there for years and I've written about them in my autobiography.
"Cancel culture hyenas that are trying to strip the meat off of a bone until there is nothing left.
"Listen, I'm over it and I have moved on and I think everyone else has moved on and cancel culture has gone way too far."
The interview has now sparked a furious backlash on social media.
Users took to Twitter to hit out at the star, who was axed as a judge on Dancing on Ice after the allegations surfaced.

One said: "John Barrowman trying to make light of a sex crime is quite frankly disturbing."
While another said: "Not John Barrowman blaming cancel culture. Everyone else to blame but him."
And another wrote: "Oh do f**k off Barrowman. Exposing yourself to people isn't 'fun' you absolute clown."
But some fans were quick to defend the star.
One said online: "People need to let this go now, John Barrowman appologised and addressed it was inappropriate."
The Sun on Sunday revealed last year there were allegations he exposed himself on the sets of BBC’s Doctor Who and spin-off show Torchwood.
