MUSIC mogul Jamal Edwards sadly passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022.
After an inquest into the SBTV founder's sudden passing, a cause of death has been confirmed.
How did Jamal Edwards die?
Jamal Edwards' cause of death was confirmed after an inquest at West London coroner's court.
The evidence showed cocaine toxicity in Edwards' body, assistant coroner Ivor Collett said.
He added that the cause of death was cardiac arrhythmia, following cocaine use.
The coroner concluded the cause of death was drug-related.
Jamal's mother, Brenda Edwards, said she was in a "state of shock" after discovering his death was caused by recreational drugs.
On February 21, 2022, Brenda confirmed his death in a statement that reads: "It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness.
"Myself, his sister Tanish and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated.

Jamal, 31, was last seen attending the Brit Awards in the first week of February and performed as a DJ at a gig in North London in the evening of Saturday, February 19, 2022.

Chart-topper AJ Tracey was one of the first to pay tribute online, by tweeting: "RIP Jamal Edwards, west London legend status".
CELEBRITY DEATHS
The official Twitter handle of YouTube paid tribute to the legend with a post saying: “We’ve lost a legend today. Jamal Edwards was an inspiration to so many, supporting artists and shaping culture through @SBTVonline.
"Sending our condolences to Jamal’s family & community.”
Birmingham rapper Jaykae also paid tribute on Twitter, writing: "I think I can speak for us all as artists and as supporters of uk grime/rap scene when I say I owe this man so much!
"Helped me sometimes without even speaking of it. RIP Jamal Edwards, my guy man!!! Can’t believe I’m tweeting this. Legend. I love ya."
In July 2022, Jessie J paid tribute at a gig saying: "I miss Jamal so much. I know there's probably people here that knew him.
"It still doesn't feel real to me. He was a good friend of mine."
She added: "Every time I feel sad, I just go 'I have to live a little harder'. I'm so grateful to be here."
