Aidan Turner’s raunchy Poldark scenes slammed by veteran cast member Caroline Blakiston
Actress is adamant the sex scenes are not necessary to keep viewers interested
POLDARK’s raunchy moments and AIDAN TURNER’s ripped torso are a hit with viewers — but they are turning its own cast members off.
CAROLINE BLAKISTON, who plays the matriarch of the Poldark family Aunty Agatha, has hit out at BBC bosses for their obsession with sex scenes.
The 83-year-old telly star blasted: “I know the viewers like to look at the sex scenes but I know I don’t. I don’t want to look to look at people having sex.
"If people want to then that is up to them but I think sex is rather private myself. I would not want to do it in public.
"I did take my clothes off for a movie with JOHN SCHLESINGER but it is not what I want to watch. Maybe it is because I am an old lady.
"Sex is private I think. They do it a lot on the show. I was there when they did the rape scene so it is very hard to talk about the situation.”
Given the amount the tricorn-hatted hunk takes his top off I’d have thought Caroline would be used to it by now.
The news comes after it was revealed the show's star, Aidan is enjoying a budding new romance off-screen.
While the Irish hunk is notoriously private about his personal life, his friend David Caffrey has revealed Aidan is very serious about his new love.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, David revealed that Aidan confessed his feelings for Tara just before attending the GQ awards, where he took away the gong for best actor.
He explained: “I walked in on Aidan dancing around his hotel room in his pants, saying, ‘I’m in love, I love her!'”
Speaking about Aidan’s love life, he continued: “He falls in love easily. Aidan loves curves – the bigger the better and he kept saying how amazing this girl’s curves are. He loved Charlene too, but she’s gone."
