Inside Wayne and Coleen Rooney’s incredible £5m Italy wedding with boyband performance and celeb pals
COLEEN and Wayne Rooney threw a multi-million-pound wedding nearly 14 years ago with scores of celebrity pals and a performance from Westlife.
The couple, who have been married for nearly 14 years and together for 19, spared no expense for the nuptials held in Santa Margherita Ligure in Italy in June, 2008.
The pair flew 64 of their closest friends and family for the four-day celebrations, which included lunch aboard a luxury yacht and a masked ball.
The duo held a lavish evening ceremony at Villa Durazzo, which took place by candlelight and was conducted by their childhood priest.
looked breath-taking in a custom strapless Marchesa gown that was estimated to have cost £200,000, and a simple white veil.
She accessorised her show-stopping dress with crystal-encrusted Christian Louboutins that were made to match her wedding dress.
The now-35-year-old had four bridesmaids on the day - including her late sister Rosie McLoughlin, while her dad Tony walked her down the aisle.
Their reception was held in a former 14th-century abbey called La Cervara and was decorated with white roses, fairy lights and candles.

Wayne surprised Coleen with her favourite band Westlife, who performed their song I Do during the couple's first dance.

Later on in the evening, Coleen changed into a second look by Marchesa, a Grecian-style mini dress with crystal-encrusted waistband and neckline.
Not to be outdone in the fashion stacks, Coleen was also pictured in a third look by the designer, a slinky one-shouldered dress during the evening festivities.
The couple enjoyed an extravagant firework display as the partied alongside Wayne's then-teammates Michael Carrick, Wes Brown and John O'Shea.
The pair legally wed in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their family prior to their lavish evening wedding blessing.
A look back on their special day comes as the couple get candid about their marriage in a new Amazon Prime documentary, Rooney.

The embattled Wag says she felt anger over the striker’s affairs and said friends asked her why she had stuck by the former England ace after he was caught romping with prostitutes behind her back.
Childhood sweetheart Coleen said it was amazing that their 13-year-marriage has survived, and she chose not to leave him partly for the sake of their boys.
She tells Amazon documentary Rooney, out this Friday: “Life goes on and I’ve moved on. You’ve moved on. Not the behaviour, no. It’s not acceptable.
“Forgiveness I’d say is different. It’s not acceptable what he’s done but it’s happened and that was a stage of life that we were in at the time. But we’ve moved on.
“I forgive him but it wasn’t acceptable. If it comes up we talk about it like we are talking about it now. I haven’t got the anger I did at the time.”
She added: “I do think it’s amazing that we are where we are today. We’re lucky that we both had the strength and support of each other and the people around us to keep going.
"That’s something we’ve had to work hard at. I wouldn’t be standing here if I hadn’t forgiven him.”
