ANNE-MARIE has been praised by fans for carrying on with the show after dramatically FALLING down stairs at the Brit Awards.

Viewers were quick to throw their support behind the singer for continuing with her big performance despite hurting her left ankle.

Anne-Marie, wearing a short red dress, had only just begun singing when she flew down several stairs on the stage.

But despite landing on her knees, and although her voice wobbled, she carried on as if it had never happened.

Following her performance, Anne-Marie took to Twitter to comment on her fall.

Admitting that it had hurt, she told followers: "Didn’t need my left ankle anyway."

Brit Awards fans, meanwhile, have congratulated Anne-Marie for keeping calm and continuing with her song.

One fan wrote: "Poor Anne-Marie. I feel so bad for her :/ the way she recovered from that fall tho?? respect #BRITs."

Another tweeted: "Anne Marie getting straight back up from that fall what a trooper!!!"

Name-checking other stars who have tripped at the Brits, a third said: "Anne-Marie joins Jason Derulo, Madonna and jlaw. It ain't a bad group to fall into. #BRITs."

Tonight's Brit Awards is being held at London's O2 Arena and features a huge lineup of stars.

Ed Sheeran opened the ceremony by teaming up with rockers Bring Me The Horizon for a duet of his huge hit Bad Habits.

Comedian Mo Gilligan is hosting the show, having taken over the helm from Jack Whitehall after a four-year reign.

Adele, who has flown into the UK especially, picked up the first gong of the night.

The London-born singer scooped Song Of The Year for her comeback hit Easy On Me.
