EASIER RIDER

Adele trades in packs of Marlboro Gold and chewing gum for Percy Pig sweets, fruit and PG Tips in dressing room requests

A FEW years ago Adele's Brit Awards dressing room would have been a right hoot.

But since she became a mum and moved Stateside, her rider requests read more like those for a mums’ table at a kids’ party than the wishes of a showbiz megastar.

We can reveal the Easy On Me singer has traded in packs of Marlboro Gold and chewing gum for . . . Percy Pig sweets, fruit and PG Tips.

Oh, and a bit of plonk but not too much.

Adele’s shopping list for Brits staff was handed to them as she prepares to perform at the event in London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday night.

An awards source told us: “Back in the day, Adele’s dressing room would have been a right knees-up but now it could not be any more different.

“She still loves her wine but is much more thoughtful about her other choices.”

Following the recent storm over her eleventh-hour axing of her Las Vegas shows, the source added: “There’s a lot of pressure on her for Tuesday’s show so she’s not going to be boozing ahead of time.

"She knows Vegas was a big letdown for fans, so she wants to make it up to them.”

In 2011, the year before she had son Angelo with now ex-husband Simon Konecki, a leaked rider sheet from her 21 tour included a Marlboro Lights 20-pack, disposable lighter and “assortment of chewing gum”.

She quit smoking later that year — after suffering a vocal cord haemorrhage — although later said this had left her voice “weaker”.

Adele’s Brits gig comes after she last month cancelled her run of Vegas shows at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace just 24 hours before the scheduled opener.

She blamed this on “delivery delays” and Covid but backstage sources claimed there had been rows over the shows’ staging.

Vegas sources say it is now uncertain when they might go ahead.

One said: “The schedule is filling up so right now her return would be October at the earliest. But it’s much more likely to be 2023, with conversations about her return still a way off.”

Time for them to stockpile Percy Pigs and PG Tips, then.

One Night in London

RETURNING to the capital after three years, Tiesto made sure his One Night In London show wouldn’t be forgotten by his dedicated and energetic fans.

His set effortlessly mixed his powerful Nineties trance hits with more radio-friendly bangers like The Motto, featuring the vocals of Ava Max.

Standouts included The Business with its gradually rising synths and gliding pitch shifted vocals.

Combining dazzling pyrotechnics with a bass turned up loud enough to shake the drink out of your hands, Tiesto proved once again that he can still fill a dance floor.

It didn’t matter if you were an ageing raver in light-up UV glasses or a bucket hat-wearing art student, by the time the lights turned on at the end of the night, it was clear to everyone at the show why Tiesto is widely regarded The Godfather of EDM.

Alec is due to take a lead role in plane-crash drama 97 Minutes, which will begin filming in Hampshire soon.

The flick is about a hijacked 767 that will crash in just 97 minutes when its fuel runs out.

A movie source said: “Filming is top secret, but there is a lot of buzz that Alec is set to get back to work after Rust.

“Of course, safety on set is paramount and the crew is being kept to an absolute minimum so he can focus on his work.”

It comes after some film fans were up in arms after it was announced that Baldwin has agreed to be a “special guest programmer” at the Boulder International Film Festival, in Colorado, next month.

WE can exclusively reveal that guest presenters at Tuesday night’s ceremony will include Friends star Courteney Cox, Snow Patrol pianist Johnny McDaid, Succession actor Brian Cox and Olympian Sir Mo Farah. The celebrities will dish out gongs to winners at London’s O2 Arena.

Nominees include Little Mix, Dave and ABBA who have returned with Voyage, their first album in 40 years.

Let’s hope Brian doesn’t use any fruity language like his telly character Logan Roy.

Sam said: “The studio had an unlimited Guinness tap.

"I was proud of the boys as apparently we racked up the biggest bar tab the record label has ever had to pay in the last 15 years. It was Guinness and whiskey for two months.

“But it was great, it was stunning landscape in Ireland so we spent a load of time there.”

Pete slams woke gongs

EIGHTIES songwriter Pete Waterman has branded the Brits “strange” for removing gendered categories.

Bosses have ditched the British male and female solo artist categories, replacing them with an Artist Of The Year gong.

At the Bob Marley One Love Experience exhibition private view in London, Pete said of the move: “The industry does strange things. An artist is an artist.”

He added: “I only took sales seriously, not what the industry gave me. I wouldn’t play their game.”

It didn’t stop him notching up a load of No1s, though.

“As much as I would like to DM you by inviting you on a date, marriage or on holiday, or asking for your credit card details, it’s not really my style.”

He added: “As much as I would love to direct message you all, I hardly have time to message my own wife.

“Quite why someone would want to impersonate me still baffles me.”

We hope too many hearts haven’t been broken . . .

First signing

FORMER West Ham midfielder Jimmy Bullard is the first signing for this year’s Celebrity MasterChef – despite being useless in the kitchen.

The Soccer AM co-host will try to impress judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

Our source said: “Jimmy can’t cook for toffee, but that’s half the fun. As long as Gregg and John’s tummies aren’t too delicate, they should be able to stomach his cooking.”

Another former Hammers ace Neil “Razor” Ruddock was a finalist on the BBC1 show in 2019.
