Benedict Cumberbatch’s sweary response after being told he ‘looks like Ali G’
BENEDICT Cumberbatch had a sweary response for the people who compared him to Ali G in a recent fashion magazine photoshoot.
The Power of the Dog star, 45, was likened to Sacha Baron Cohen's iconic wannabe rude boy after gracing W Magazine.
For the shoot, photographed by Tim Walker, Benedict was styled in a yellow bucket hat, tinted aviators and a sunshine yellow polo shirt.
He remained stony-faced as he rested his elbow on a table and held a stem of daisies between his fingers.
It didn't take long for the images to go viral, with many drawing comparisons between the two very different British national treasures.
But in an interview with the , Benedict admitted he wasn't impressed by it, saying: "F*** the piss takers."
"I’d love to know what their version of a good photograph would be.
"You won’t be seeing me walking around in a Fendi bucket [hat], or whatever it was, anytime soon.

"Or a ten-gallon hat that doesn’t fit my rather large head anyway . . . But I’d do anything for Tim, I really would."
Benedict will be a fixture of awards season 2022 thanks to the critical success of Netflix's western Power of the Dog and his portrayal of a charismatic rancher.
After tasting success at the Golden Globes, the film is up for eight gongs at the Baftas including Best film, Best Actor and Best Director.
