DOING HIS BRIT

Sam Fender signs up to perform at Brit Awards joining Ed Sheeran, Liam Gallagher and Doja Cat on the line-up

HE was tipped for great things when he won the Critics’ Choice award at the Brits in 2019 –  and this year Sam Fender is returning to the show stage as a fully fledged star.

I can reveal the Geordie singer has been signed to perform at the glitzy ceremony on Tuesday next week at London’s O2 Arena.

He will be joining headline acts including Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Liam Gallagher, Little Simz and Dave.

Sam, who scored his second No1 album with Seventeen Going Under in October, is up for three gongs – Best Artist, Best Alternative/Rock Act and Best Album – but is preparing to rock out on stage too.

He said: “It’s beyond a dream to be performing at the Brit Awards this year. Me and the band are so excited to get up on that stage. It’s going to be mega!”

It has been a stellar 12 months for Sam, who reached No3 in the singles charts with the title track from his album.

In March he will embark on a huge arena tour across the UK and is pulling out all the stops for his Brits performance to give fans a taste of what to expect on the road.

The awards, hosted by comedian Mo Gilligan, will air live on ITV.

And I’ll be bringing you all the backstage gossip in Bizarre the next day
