Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 4 show sees models FAINTING in heat and guests trapped for an hour on buses
Rapper showed his latest collection with Adidas at abandoned smallpox hospital renting out a whole island in New York
KANYE West's latest fashion show for his Yeezy Season 4 descended into chaos on Wednesday with models fainting in the searing heat and guests trapped on buses for over an hour.
The rapper chose to hold the event, which was part of New York Fashion Week, at an abandoned smallpox hospital on Roosevelt Island.
But despite his no doubt best laid plans, many guests were left disgruntled and less than impressed after they were herded onto coaches and got stuck in traffic for over an hour to get to the show.
The program then started 90 minutes late, and several models who had been standing in the heat fainted, while others tripped over in the shoes they were wearing while walking the runway.
Fashionista's started griping about the show from the get go, when they got a stiff white card invite on the morning of the event.
For his Madison Square Garden event in February, they received a jacket along with their invitation.
All it listed was the date and time, along with the location and the fact Italian artist Vanessa Beecroft, was on the bill.
They were also not best pleased they had to ditch the luxury of a town car and get over to Roosevelt Island, in the east of the city by bus from pick up locations.
And as they got stuck in traffic for more than an hour as they made the sic mile journey, many took to Twitter to vent their frustrations.
New York Times Styles reporter Matthew Schneier said the Yeezy show was "basically a middle school field trip."
Meanwhile Gerald Flores, the editor-in-chief of Sole Collector posted: "Overheard on the Yeezy Season 4 bus: 'It feels like we're being kidnapped'"
And Elizabeth Denton, a digital editor at Allure, tweeted: "everyone on the Yeezy bus is so unhappy."
Conditions were less than glamorous, with Twitter user @MissFoxyQueen posting: "We're still on the bus. We are on 57th and Fifth Ave. The bathroom is broken. Yeezus, save us?"
She also added: "The #YeezyBus is really glamorous, guys! Especially when the bathroom door swings open and nearly slaps us."
Once the buses arrived, the aggravation did not stop, with guests waiting in the hot sun for the start of the show.
And the heat got to the extras as well - one fainted as everyone waited for the start.
The "multi-racial" crowd Kanye had put a call out for on Sunday stood wearing Spandex outfits, which ranged for Spanx in style to thongs and underwear, with no shoes.
