FORMER TOWIE star Ferne McCann nearly drowned after falling off a boat while taking a selfie.

The reality babe was filming a travel segment for This Morning with I'm A Celebrity co-star Vicky Pattison around Italy's glamorous Amalfi coast.

And to make matters worse, the whole sorry incident happened in front of a boat full of Japanese tourists - who laughed and took PICTURES instead of helping Ferne out of the water.

Ferne said: "We tried to go to this famous cave called the Blue Grotto off Capri, people come from all over the world to see it.

'But we'd been dancing on the tables the night before and we were hung over as balls. And what's the last thing you want on a hangover? Choppy seas.

'We were scared for our lives."

Vicky added: "We're standing there so Ferne can take a selfie and the boat's going this way and that, and a big wave came along and she just went in.

"She's just bobbing about, trying to keep her phone out of the water.

"Then this big boat with all these Japanese tourists pulls up, everyone whips their cameras out and starts taking pictures.

"She was floundering about like a dying salmon. It was high drama, mate."

Luckily for reality TV fans, Ferne escaped alive, although the phone died - thankfully that belonged to 'Producer Martin' and not Ferne, though.

She said, 'On the way back, I was waving at the Japanese tourists going, 'I'm alive', and they were all cheering.'

Meanwhile Vicky made a fool of herself too - when she had a go at milking a buffalo at a mozzarella farm.

The saucy Loose Women presenter said she thought she'd get the hang of milking as it's a similar motion to something else she's very good at.

She said: "I thought I'd be good at it - just a hunch.

"But the thing is, I've got really long nails. They were tickling the udder and the buffalo started kicking off.

"I had to move sharpish or I'd have been trampled to death. It was very dramatic.

"Then magic fingers Ferne has a go and got a pint out in no time. Brilliant technique, Ferne.";

Ferne added, "It did resemble a male's private parts…"
