Boy George snubs Ed Sheeran collaboration – saying he’d rather team up with Missy Elliot
BOY George has snubbed a future Sheeran collaboration - saying he'd rather team up with Missy Elliot over the Shape of You popstar.
The music icon, 60, admitted that he has hit sights on one specific person in the music industry and it's not Grammy Award winning artist Ed.
Ed has an impressive track record when it comes to collaborations, teaming up with some of the biggest music stars, from Elton John to Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift - but it looks like he won't be adding Boy George's name to that list anytime soon.
The Culture Club star has ruled out collaboration with Ed, admitting that he's fed up with people suggesting that they should work together.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, he said: "I've got six tracks out this month, I've got all new stuff coming out all the time."
Discussing who he would collaborate with and suggesting Ed Sheeran, looking baffled at the suggestion, Boy George responded: "Why does everyone always pick him? No."
The flamboyant star made it clear that he's a big fan of US rapper Missy Elliot and is desperate to team-up with the star.
Asked if he has any artists in the pipeline that he wants to work with, he simply replied: "Missy Elliot.
"I think it's always hard to be interesting. I think pop music has got quite dull, I have to say.
"My favourite type of music is sort of Missy Elliott, Bowie. That's pop music. Things that have got a bit of an edge to them. That's what we're looking for."
For 40 years the star has made waves with his iconic music with Culture Club.

The star recently discussed his upcoming film about his life, called Karma Chameleon.
He is having his career translated to the big screen in a Hollywood flick produced by Creed's Kevin King Templeton and his manager, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Paul Kemsley.
The movie will also be directed by Sacha Gervasi - responsible for The Terminal and Hitchcock - who has said: "In the London clubs of the ‘80s, George was impossible to miss and everyone knew he would be a star long before the world had ever heard a note of Culture Club’s iconic songs.
"As you can imagine, George’s life story is wickedly entertaining, yet also poignant and inspiring. I’m both honoured and excited to be the one to guide it onto the big screen."
