Coleen Rooney posts touching tribute to sister Rosie on the 9th anniversary of her tragic death

COLEEN Rooney has paid an emotional tribute to her little sister Rosie McLoughlin nine years after her death.

Rosie died aged 14 in 2013 after a lifelong battle with the rare brain disorder Rett syndrome, which causes severe disabilities.

Coleen, 35, shared a beautiful photo to Instagram of young Rosie in bed wearing a tropical themed pink top.

She captioned the post: "9 years today Ro. Thinking about you every day. Love you always 😇❤️🥰 #OurAngel."

Coleen's fans rushed to send their condolences with messages of comfort.

"Beautiful Angel always with you sending love and a big hug xx," commented one fan.

And a third shared: "Thinking of u all 💔💗❤️"

Rosie was originally fostered at two years old by Coleen's parents, Tony and Colette.

They knew she was disabled but it took a few years to realise how serious her condition was.

"But over a period of time she stopped crawling and lost what use of her hands she had. Then she started having problems swallowing her food.

"It took pretty much a year for Rosie to be diagnosed and, looking back, I can see how much Mum pushed to find out what was wrong with her and to try to do what was best for her."

Last year, Coleen remembered her younger sibling on Instagram by sharing a candid black and white photo of them smiling together.

The Welcome To My World author accompanied the heartwarming shot with poignant caption in which Coleen said she wished her sons Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass had met her.

She wrote: "8 years since our Rosie got her angel wings and flew to heaven to dance and run free.

"My boys speak about you all the time Ro, wish they all could have met you. Love and miss you every day."

Days before Rosie died, when it became clear her condition was deteriorating, Coleen and the family cut their Barbados holiday short.

She said at the time: "So glad we ended our holiday short, due to her deteriorating & we was able to spend the last few days together with her an our family."

"Sleep tight Rosie Mc x. We love you more than words can say x."
