THE contestant has slammed accusations he's already a professional singer
X FACTOR’s Ryan Lawrie has hit back at fix accusations – after it was revealed he’d already released a hit single and performed at Wembley Stadium prior to starring on the show.
The 20-year-old, who auditioned during last Saturday’s opening episode of the series, has rubbished the claims and stated he entered the ITV competition to “further his career.”
After it was revealed Ryan had previously released track You’re Free in 2013, which charted at 39 in the UK Top 40, he opened up about the claims during a chat with Daily Record.
Ryan ranted: “There were stories in some of the papers saying the show was a fix…
“I do not have, and have never had, a record deal and I wanted to enter The X Factor to give me a bigger platform to perform, introduce more people to my music and, hopefully, progress my career."
The track Ryan released was in aid of a terminally ill girl who asked him to pen one for her - but she sadly passed away before he'd finished the musical tribute.
He raised around £1600 in proceeds from sales of the single and donated it to Yorkhill Children’s Foundation.
