Britney Spears reveals she was so nervous for a date she ended up losing half a stone
Single superstar says she was worried her love interest wouldn't like her
BRITNEY SPEARS will have no worries about tucking in to that tub of Ben & Jerry’s at the end of a bad date, judging from her new interview with Marie Claire.
Her love life – or lack of one – is proving a smash with her diet.
The singer has revealed she was so nervous about getting back into the dating game with a guy she really liked that she lost half a stone by the time the night was over.
Britney said: “I had a really bad date. I mean, it was bad. I’ve been single for ages and had a date with a guy I liked.
“I was getting anxious, worrying he wouldn’t like me.
“In the evening I got on the scales and I had lost six pounds.
“We went to the movies but I could tell right away it wasn’t working. It was sort of awkward. So after the movie I came home and that was it.”
Shedding light on the almost inconceivable rejection, my favourite pop star explained how her superstardom has granted her no free passes to a “happily ever after” following a string of high-profile failed relationships.
He just wasn't that into me... It happens to everybody. Being famous doesn’t make you any different

She told ’s October issue, out today: “It just didn’t work. He just wasn’t that into me. I liked him. He knew that.
“But he definitely didn’t feel the same. It happens to everybody. Being famous doesn’t make you any different.”
It’s his loss.

Kim's a chore draw
YOU’VE got to hand it to her – KIM KARDASHIAN knows how to be the centre of attention even when she’s running errands.
The reality star wore the priciest pair of fluffy slippers at £385 and a busty corset as part of her latest bid to stay in the public eye in New York yesterday.
Her revealing outfit looked like it had been picked out by rapper hubby KANYE WEST – who clearly needs Kim’s assets on full view to remain interested.
In footage that emerged online following Sunday’s MTV VMA awards, the couple were seen engrossed on their phones as they sat on opposite sides of a room backstage.
Those selfies won’t upload themselves.
Bey to play Coachella
IT was the best 15 minutes in recent MTV VMA history – and BEYONCE’s explosive performance has not gone unnoticed.
I can reveal the superstar has landed a hugely lucrative gig off the back of her Awards spectacular – headlining next year’s Coachella.
A music insider said: “The festival bosses were blown away.
“She’s been on their hitlist for months and after Sunday’s show they knew they had to land her. She’s going to be a huge draw.”
Until now, Beyonce has only ever attended the star-studded California festival as a punter.
The move comes as organisers depart from the festival’s traditional rock roots, which saw the likes of RADIOHEAD and PRINCE top the bill. After Sunday, even Coachella veterans would struggle to find fault.
Calvin a real Bru-tea
CALVIN HARRIS has clearly moved away from Tunnock’s teacakes and Irn-Bru to end up with a body like this.
The Scot posed in his pants on Instagram – just months after I revealed he had cut ties with Emporio Armani after fronting their underwear campaign.
But he’s still putting his tighty whities to good use and giving them a bit of extra promo in the process.
Yesterday I revealed he’d binned his typically strict diet to binge on Percy Pig sweets and pork pies as he celebrated two wins at the MTV VMAs.
Doesn’t look like they did him much harm.
Oasis? No-asis says Noel
NOEL GALLAGHER’s kids may have got him on to Instagram – but even they can’t coax him into joining an OASIS reunion.
The guitarist has revealed that he has to fight off daily nagging from daughter Anais and sons Sonny and Donovan about reforming the band with their uncle LIAM.
He said: “My kids ask me every day about it. They’re like, ‘Dad, can I ask you a question?’
"It’s as far away from happening as it’s ever been. It’s flattering that people still care but I don’t want to do it.
"The other day some guy asked me, ‘Will Oasis ever get back together?’ I was just like, ‘I hope not.’”
In his chat with TalkSport, Noel also told an anecdote about Liam.
He recalled: “One gig that stands out for me was Wembley Stadium in 2001. It was a dreadful gig.
“I hadn’t been drinking but somebody else had been out drinking all night with SPORTY SPICE – wasn’t very rock ’n’ roll of him. It was a dreadful night. He was plastered.”
Sounds like the perfect Noughties night out.
