The evening closely followed the Canadian rapper's confession of love for the Bajan beauty at the MTV VMAs.

The Work singer looked almost angelic as she stepped out in a loose white shirt dress, pulled in a tan belt.

Rihanna, 28, completed her outfit with a pink purse, tan sandals and her hair scrapped back in a bun.

Meanwhile her on/off love Drake was dressed down in chinos, white trainers and a leather varsity jacket.

Away from cameras the pair enjoyed some time together at upmarket New York restaurant Nobu.

It was a far cry away from Drake's very public confession of love at the MTV awards on Sunday, where the 29-year-old revealed his true feelings for Rihanna.

While presenting her with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, Drake gushed: "She is someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22-years-old.

"She’s one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life I’ve looked up to her."

Drake continued: "What’s most impressive isn’t the endless list of stats, awards or accomplishments.

"She succeeds by doing something which no one in this music industry does – and that’s be herself."
