Phil Collins ex-wife Orianne divorces new husband after just a year of marriage and blames COVID for split
PHIL Collins' ex-wife has revealed she is divorcing her new husband after just a year of marriage - blaming COVID for the split.
Orianne Cevey, 47, took to Instagram to tell fans the pair have decided to call it quits after they eloped at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas last August.
The jewellery designer parted ways with Genesis drummer Phil, 70, back in 2008 after nine years of marriage, with the musician coughing up more than £33million in their tumultuous divorce.
They then reunited between 2016 and 2019 before Orianne secretly wed Tom Bates, 32, on August 2, 2020 after claiming Phil drank booze and watched news all day - refusing to go out or see friends.
Now Orianne has decided to file for divorce from her toyboy hubby, whose pop career she was managing.
Posting on Instagram, Orianne said: "I am filing for divorce from my husband, Thomas Bates.
"I believe the emotional stress of the COVID quarantine caused me to act in ways and do things that were out of character.
"Fortunately, I have faced challenging situations before and like I always have, I will muster all the strength I can, the best team I can find and the courage to do the right thing."

She went on to thank people for their support, adding she is looking to handle the matter in private.
"Thank you to so many who have supported me in the past - it means so much to my family and me," Orianne added.
"To be clear: my intention is to let our attorneys deal with this resolution behind closed doors, and not in the media which is why I am posting the statement on my personal account."
Her latest divorce comes amid her they once shared.
Last summer, rock icon Phil was left “shocked" when the Swiss entrepreneur left him in June, before getting wed soon after.
She reportedly held Phil’s waterfront mansion “hostage” with armed guards on the premises as he tried to “evict her. "
Phil took legal action to evict her last year with an eventual agreement she would leave in January. Orianne wants half the proceeds from the £30million home, which has been sold.
Orianne, who is of Swiss-Thai background, was just 21 when she started dating the In The Air Tonight singer after being hired to be his translator during his 1994 tour of Switzerland.
It comes after she accused Phil of making her out to be a "bad person" and a "b**ch" and claims he got "super mad" when she remarried.
ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE
The designer told The Sun Online she feels "sad" as she claims Phil presented her as a "bad person" and "b**ch" in their turbulent break-up.
Orianne, who shares two sons with Phil, told The Sun Online: "We were living together in Miami Beach with our children for more than six years. It was my house as much as his house.
“And when he found out I got married, he got super mad and that was it."
She added: "I could not control that. The reality that matters is the fact that it was my house and that is all it is.
“It is sad to be honest. It is very sad the way he puts the view where I am pitched as a very bad person.
"I have not done anything except to say: ‘I am sorry it doesn't work anymore and you are well aware of it. I am going to move on'.
“That is all I said. People take it badly. There are the fans, who follow him and think he is best. But you do not know what is behind closed doors."
The bitter legal battle between the two sides has seen Orianne's lawyers make explosive comments about Phil.

She accused the singer of being "unhygienic" and "incapable of having sex", adding his "stench became so pervasive that he became a hermit".
Phil categorically denies all these claims.
