X Factor shock as THREE former contestants return to audition again

It seems the ITV show is running out of people to try out

THREE female contestants who appeared on the X Factor this weekend have been on the show before.

It was a serious case of deja-vu for viewers as not just one but three familiar faces popped up on screen hoping to give their singing careers another bash.

As the show made its return on Saturday night Caitlyn Vanbeck also made her return.

The Edinburgh based singer -  who opened up about being bullied –moved Nicole Scherzinger to tears with her performance of Kelly Clarkson’s Piece by Piece, and even got a hug from Simon Cowell thanks to her rendition.

Their reaction was somewhat surprising as the teen appeared on the show just last year – although none of them seemed to remember it.

Meanwhile on last night’s show Emily Middlemas was back for another crack – singing Stevie Wonder’s Entranced.

Unlike the other returning singers this weekend – Simon Cowell did  remember her, thanks to her rather memorable guitar playing.

Emily first appeared on the show in 2014 and got all the way to judges houses but mentor Cheryl decided she wasn’t quite ready to go through to the live shows.

Addressing the fact that no reference was made to the fact that Caitlyn and Rebekah were returning to the show, a spokesperson told The Sun Online: “Caitlyn auditioned last year and Rebekah in 2007, but their auditions never aired due to time constraints with the programme.

“Therefore, as viewers have never seen this audition, it was not referenced on the show.”
