EX EastEnders star Dean Gaffney took a cheeky dig at Shayne Ward for posting what he considered a dull tweet.

The 38-year-old took Shayne – who plays Aidan Connor in Coronation Street – to task after he told his 314k followers it was “shower time,” followed by a thumbs-up emoji.

Hitting back, Dean wrote: “@ShayneTward oh no you didn’t put that tweet up… Thought you was cooler than that mate… Haha shall I have cornflakes or Frosties today!?”

Shayne, 31, took it in good spirits however, simply replying: “@deangaffney1 Ha.”

Unlike Danny Dyer and Mark Wright’s recent online spat, there are no hard feelings here.

Shayne and Dean are friends having frequently played together in charity football matches.

Meanwhile, Shayne’s biggest real-life drama is he’s set to become a first-time dad with girlfriend Sophie Austin.

He and the former Hollyoaks star first revealed that they were expecting last month.

In-between tweeting about his cleanliness habits, one-time X Factor winner Shayne also used his social media account today to discuss the soon to arrive bundle of joy.

He created an online poll where he asked fans: “What do you reckon girl or boy?”

So far 1,591 people have taken part in the vote with girl just about leading by 54 percent.
