Katie Price’s ex Kieran Hayler says he’s ‘very sad’ for their children as she prepares to marry Carl Woods
KATIE Price's ex-husband Kieran Hayler has spoken out following the rumours she and Carl Woods were set to tie the knot in Las Vegas.
As Katie, 43, continues to share details from her trip to Sin City with fiancé Carl - where they picked up a marriage certificate shortly after landing - Kieran, 34, is caring for their children Jett, seven, and Bunny, six.
Breaking his silence for the first time, Kieran exclusively told The Sun: "I'm very sad for my children that they can't be there with their mum. But I have to keep them safe and keep them protected. I have their best interests at heart."
Kieran's admission comes after we revealed that he had to break the news to Bunny and Jett that their mum might be getting married again.
A source said: "Kieran was as surprised as anyone else. He suspected Katie was planning something when she flew to Vegas, but she didn’t tell him directly,” says the friend.
“He’ll have to speak to Bunny and Jett about how Carl is their new step-dad and how their mum got married again. Even though Katie and Carl are engaged, I think a lot of people are surprised at her decision to get married without their families there.”
After spending much of the last week dropping hints that they were getting married, Katie and Carl added to the riddle last night by claiming it was all a prank.
Carl posted on Instagram: "I can confirm Katie Price and I are not getting married in Vegas and never was. However a $102 marriage licence caused pure carnage and got the media all excited and s**t."

Katie and Kieran tied the knot in 2013 and split in 2018, though their divorce wasn't finalised until June this year.
Last week Katie hit out at Kieran and her first husband Peter Andre - who she shares Junior, 16, and Princess, 14, with - and accused them of contributing to her mental health struggles by selling stories on her.
But Peter, 48, hit back: "I don't do stories. It's not my bag. I never get involved. Just thought I'd let anyone interested know. Nice try though."
