TENSIONS continue to rise in the Beale household as Jane makes a shocking discovery about Steven in tonight's episode of EastEnders.
The wife of Ian Beale–who recently suffered a near-fatal attack from little Bobby– uncovers an unnerving secret about her husband's step-son which leaves her absolutely reeling.
In upcoming episodes, viewers will see the tender-hearted character pluck up the courage to confront Steven in front of Ian and girlfriend Lauren.
But how will the other characters react to the hunky Beale's mystery secret?
In recent weeks, fans have watched Ian and his step-son grow closer as Steven helped support the business tycoon through the testing moments of Bobby's trial and Jane's injuries.
Ian, played by Adam Woodyatt, even tells his wife how proud he is of Steven's attempts to help the family come out of their current financial crisis.
But it seems that Jane is far from impressed.
Ian and his adopted son have only just managed to bury the hatchet on bitter past differences following Steven's attack on the family in 2007– when he accidentally shot Jane in the stomach and left her unable to have children.
However, never quite forgiving him for his fatal actions – Jane has struggled to welcome the adopted Beale back into the family again.
So could Steven's secret now make things a whole lot worse?
The once social-outcast returned to Albert Square after years of being in New Zealand with his biological family.
But when the stud returned all grown-up with his brother's girlfriend and their baby but no Peter– suspicions were raised about what exactly went down outside of the square.
With a lot of questions still left unanswered and a shock discovery on its way– pends the question about whether Peter Beale will also return in the aftermath of Jane's big revelation.
Earlier on in the week, Ian hit the roof when he discovered that his insurance company might not pay out for the restaurant’s recent break-in due to a major blunder made by mum Kathy.
The chippy owner also discovers that a pop-up burger initiative fails to boost profits of the family’s restaurant, Beales.
