DANNIELLA Westbrook may need surgery after infected mucus threatened to spead to her brain.
The former EastEnders actress, 47, was hospitalised after a sinus infection turned nasty, yesterday telling her children "tomorrow isn't promised".
She has now been moved out of the intensive care unit but is determined to be back home in time for her birthday, which is on Bonfire Night.
However, a specialist will meet with her to discuss the next steps that can be taken to stop it happening again - including surgery.
A source told the : "She is out of ICU now. She is being seen by a cancer palliative specialist over the next few days to discuss options and surgery to stop this from happening again.
"We hope she can be well soon and out of hospital very soon as it's her birthday next week. She's a fighter, that's for sure."
The Sun told last week that the actress was taken into intensive care after a sinus infection was failed to be treated by antibiotics leaving her "really poorly".
She shared a photograph to Instagram showing herself arriving at hospital as doctor's worried the infection could spread to "her brain".

A close pal exclusively told Sun Online: "Danniella is really poorly. She ended up in ICU after antibiotics for a sinus infection didn't work.
"Experts were concerned infected mucus could track back to her brain, but she is being well cared for in hospital and is on the mend."
Danniella, who played Sam Mitchell in EastEnders, sparked concern yesterday when she posted a message to her children and mum.
She shared a post saying "tomorrow is not promised" and "I love you", tagging in son Kai, daughter Jodie and her mother Susan.
The star shared a message on Instagram to the sound of How Long Will I Love You by Ellie Goulding.
It read: "Tell someone you love them today. Because tomorrow is not promised. To my family and my friends, I love you."
She then shared Kai, Jodie and Susan's Instagram names with a red heart beside them.
