X Factor’s James Arthur ‘glassed’ and taken to hospital after reported bottle attack
The singing show champion reassured fans he was OK
X Factor champion James Arthur was reportedly GLASSED and rushed to hospital during a violent attack in a pub.
The Impossible singer is said to have been hit around the head with a bottle in a boozer in the seaside town of Redcar and is now recovering.
A source confessed he was "glassed" and then whisked away by the emergency services for treatment.
It is unclear how serious his head injuries were after the incident on Saturday night, but the star has since taken to Twitter to reassure his fans he is OK.
James, 28, took to his Twitter page to write: "I'm fine thank you. No worries, we move on #BackFromTheEdge."
He was replying to a fan who quizzed if he was okay after presumably hearing of the terrifying drama.
They then added: "That's well bad - what a loser to do that to someone - wishing you a speedy recovery."
In an earlier post on his page, he hinted there had been a spot of drama during his night out.
He wrote: "Good night in Redcar tonight," followed by a sceptical Emoji and a beer glass.
A spokesperson for the Middlesborough lad, who won the series back in 2012 and is working on his new album, refused to add any more detail.
They said it had been referred to police and there was "nothing further to add."
Meanwhile a Cleveland police spokeswoman said: "We received a report of an assault at the Plimsoll Line on Redcar High Street at around 10.40pm on Saturday August 20.
"A 28-year-old man received a head wound after he was reported to have been hit with a bottle.
"The man was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.
"Inquiries are ongoing in relation to the incident."

The alleged drama came as the singing hunk has thrown himself into recording his latest release and its accompanying video.
He shared his excitement on social media and wrote: "Just got back shooting the video In Munich for the first single back after being away for a couple yrs on my way to the north in the sun," followed by a huge smiling Emoji and a sunshine icon.
Fans gushed over the news with one replying: "I NEED THIS ALBUM NOW MR ARTHUR," and another adding: "Sooo excited for your new album love you so much."
The gravelly-voiced musician then promised his tracks would be unveiled "soon."
